Being a family of six, means life is super busy, chaotic, and fun. The only time during the day that we are all sitting down together is during dinner and during reading time before bed. Otherwise, we are go, go, going all day long. I have two planners. One is for blogging and the other one is for our life. At the beginning of every month, I sit down and plan out as much of our month as I can. One thing that goes on there every month, is family movie night. I try to schedule two family movie nights a month because, we love sitting down as a family; popping in a kid-friendly movie, enjoying some yummy snacks, and cuddling up on the couch with my boys. This month for one of our family movie nights we watched Big Hero 6!
Depending on what movie we wind up watching, I try to make a themed dessert or snack that goes with the movie. I think it makes the experience for the boys much more fun and it pulls us out of the popcorn routine. So, of course, after seeing the previous for Big Hero 6, I knew I had to grab the boys and have them help me make a yummy, themed treat. I ran to Target to grab all the ingredients we would need and to purchase the movie. I went to Target with specific items in mind and wound up leaving with said things, plus a bunch of other items that I couldn’t resist. Anyone else do that? Target just has too much amazing things! If you aren’t following Target on Facebook and Twitter, you should be! I love keeping up with their updates! Anyway, after I got home. I made the cereal balls and set them in the fridge to harden so they could keep their shape. After I pulled them out, we had so much fun whipping up these yummy Baymax Treat Balls. We made some white ones and a couple of orange ones since Hiro made him that orange armor. We had fun making Baymax’s eyes different colors and the boys were laughing at how silly they look.
We chowed down on them while we watched the movie. The Baymax treat balls were so delicious and the movie was super cute!!! The boys loved it and I imagine we will watch it approximately 5,043,278,213 times because that’s what happens when they find a movie they love.
Have you seen Big Hero 6? What did you think about it? Do you and your family have movie nights and if so, what has been your favorite movie to watch as a family?

- - The cereal pictured in the post
- - Marshmallows {to make the treats}
- - Butter {to make the treats}
- - Candy for Baymax's eyes
- - White icing
- - Orange Icing
- - Black icing
- - Red sprinkles
- Make the treats according to the instructions on the cereal box.
- As soon as you are finished making those, put butter all over the palms of your hands that way they don't stick to you when you are making the balls.
- Scoop out a good size amount and shape them into balls. Continue to do this until you have made six of them or continue until you make them all.
- Scoop out the white icing into one bowl and the orange icing into another bowl. Microwave for 10 seconds. This will melt the icing down enough to wear you can put the icing on each ball easily.
- Apply the candy for the eyes. You can have fun with this or keep them black. {Black is the color of his eyes in the movie}
- Carefully put a small amount of black icing between the eyes.
- Sprinkle red sprinkles all over. {I added the red just to give it a little more color}
- ENJOY!!! =D
