Love Day banner + a free printable

Valentine’s day is one of my favorite holidays. I know there are people who absolutely hate Valentine’s day, they are single, they think it’s stupid for there to be one day where you show each other love or to buy expensive gifts because of said day. To me though, I am the type of person who seriously loves, love and having a whole day that is focused solely on Love is just fun to me. There are so many days filled with hate, worrying, life being hard, etc. and while it would be nice for everyday to be filled with mounds and mounds of love, sometimes that’s just not possible. So, having a day where we put all that aside and focus on that one emotion makes this girl extremely happy. Now that you know that, it should come as no surprise that I’m decorating for Love Day. {that’s what I like to call it} I slowly started getting our mantel all decked out in love including a print I made, candles, nick knacks I have that are perfect for a Love Day mantel and more. I also wanted a banner. {Full mantel coming soon}

Except I don’t like to follow the crowd and make regular banners. You know the kind you string together and wa-la it’s so beautiful and all that. Okay.. and maybe I can’t make those types of banners, trust me I’ve tried. Let’s just go with I don’t like to follow the crowd though, it sounds better. ;) Once I had my mind set on the banner I wanted to make I got to work. I made the hearts I wanted to use and printed them out on glossy photo paper and got to it. Today, I’m going to show you how to make it!

After you print out your Love Day hearts, cut them out and then cut them again to make perfect little hearts that are going to turn into a fun banner. ;)

Live.Laugh.L0ve. // Love Day banner + a free printable

Live.Laugh.L0ve. // Love Day banner + a free printable

Cut the streamer into the length you want them to hang. You will need 10 of them. Once you have 10 of the same length strips of banner, cut those strips into half long ways that way you have 20.

Live.Laugh.L0ve. // Love Day banner + a free printable

Live.Laugh.L0ve. // Love Day banner + a free printable

Flip the hearts over, place a piece of tape on the end of the pieces of streamer and place it onto the back of the hearts.

Then hang your banner up however and where ever you want! :) I decided to put ours on our mantel and I hung it in a slightly curved way because I didn’t just want it ramrod straight and yes I used to tape to hang each piece. Yes, I know you can see it in the pictures, but I promise unless you are super up close to the banner like my camera was, you can’t see the pieces of tape.

There you have it. A super easy and cute Love Day banner that you can make in roughly thirty minutes! Have fun!

A time for love

When I woke up on Sunday, I had a text from my mom letting me know my nephew was staying the night at her house and that she would like BOTH of the boys to come stay the night as well. It was my husband’s only day off, he was still asleep and I knew he would be asleep for awhile. Before I responded to her, I thought it over. I knew he was going to want to spend time with the boys today, we even talked about getting out of the house and going to the park, but we hadn’t had an entire day and night to ourselves in sometime. The last time we tried, Hubby was sick so we didn’t get to spend any time together. I relished in the idea of getting him all to myself, in the idea of getting to clean my house without my boys coming behind me to destroy it again, I loved the idea of date night. I decided, that I was going to say yes without talking to my husband first. He may get irritated when he wakes up, but surely that would pass I told myself. I told the boys what was happening and they became extremely giddy. I started packing their bag and getting them ready, wondering if I should have waited until Hubby got up, but I pushed the thought aside and drove them over to my moms.

Once I got back home, the utter quietness of the house startled me at first. My boys are eighteen months apart, quiet isn’t exactly something I’m used to. After a few minutes though I realized how nice that quiet was. I could hear myself think for crying out loud. Now, most people when their kids are gone for the day and night, they probably enjoy relaxing, doing their hobby’s, running errands without the kids, possibly even taking a nap. All those thoughts crossed through my mind, but as I was considering a trip to the grocery store or snuggling up next to my husband in bed and dozing off for a few more hours, I took one look around my house and decided on the spot I was going to clean the hell out of it. Clean, is exactly what I did. I turned Pandora on on my phone {Danity Kane radio} and got to work. I was just about finished with the boys room when Hubby woke up.

“Hi.” I said as I walked out of the boys room carrying dishes I hadn’t known were in there.
“Hey.” Was his groggy response. After a minute I think he realized how quite it was, “Where are the boys?”
“At my moms.” I said as I began picking up toys out of the living room.
“Why?”
“They are staying the night over there.” I said cautiously.
Irritation flickered across his face, “It’s my day off. I wanted to spend time with them.”
“I know.” I paused to gather more toys, “But we never have time like this to ourselves. I thought it would be nice.” I flashed him a smile hoping to win him over.

Live.Laugh.L0ve. // A time for love

He didn’t say much after that and I went back to cleaning. He made a trip to the gas station and when he got back, he was in a much better mood. I assumed he realized how rare this occasion was and we took full advantage of it. It turned out to be a very refreshing day. I continued cleaning the entire house in between stealing kisses from my football watching husband. Every once in awhile we would catch each others eyes and smile, that smile that said yeah this is nice. If I was in another room cleaning, he would randomly come in there, wrap his arms around me and kiss me. After I was done cleaning we got ready and went to one of our favorite restaurants, Chili’s.

Live.Laugh.L0ve. // A time for love

We ordered adult drinks and had adult conversation. We lingered over our meal, in no hurry to leave. There was no reason to hurry. Normally when we go out to eat, we are slightly rushing because the kids are only good for so long. So, we set a slow pace. We enjoyed our drinks, our conversation and our meal.

“I love the boys more than life itself, but this is so refreshing. It’s so nice just focusing on being a wife.” I couldn’t help but smile up at him, even when a little part of me felt guilty for even saying that. Because I knew that day, even though the boys crossed my mind, even though I missed them, I wasn’t focusing on them. I was focusing on my husband.

Live.Laugh.L0ve. // A time for love

Live.Laugh.L0ve. // A time for love

Live.Laugh.L0ve. // A time for love

We finished dinner and held hands walking out to the car. We were early for our movie so we decided to get some tokens, act silly and play the arcade games. We even took pictures in the photo booth. We went and saw Ride Along, which was down right hilarious. I love Kevin Hart and Ice Cube is a great actor so seeing them in a movie together was perfection. As we exited the theatre, our hands were linked once again and our pace was slow. We didn’t have to rush, we weren’t on a time frame.

The rest of our evening was filled with laughter, jokes and cussing at eachother and the video game we were playing together. I don’t remember the last time I had felt that carefree, the last time I had laughed and joked with him over a video game. As the moon rose high in the sky and the stars had been out for sometime, we fell asleep wrapped in each other’s arms. When I woke up Monday morning, I felt beyond refreshed. I was ready to go get my kids. I was ready to dive back into motherhood.

Sunday reminded me of why I created one of my husband’s Christmas presents. A gift of time. I didn’t blog about it, but I will soon. It is perfect and it’s important. As mommas we focus so much on our children and of course that’s how it should be, but we tend to not focus as much on our husband and vise versa. Life gets busy and date nights get pushed aside and time alone is catching up on your favorite TV shows together before bed. {which is totally fine} But being intentional about doing something fun together, about putting that focus on your husband and him putting his focus on you is so important. I knew I was going to remember Sunday forever. It was the first time in way too long that we took the time to actually focus on each other. It was the first time in way too long that we remembered what it was like to have fun and be silly and do things we enjoy together.

Sunday was a time for love and it was perfection.

Life, moments and time

Live.Laugh.L0ve. // Life, moments and time

Life doesn’t just slow down.
Moments don’t just hold on.
Time doesn’t just stop.

Live.Laugh.L0ve. // Life, moments and time

How many times have you found yourself wishing away time. “Oh, I can’t wait until Friday.” “Ugh, I just wish this day was over already.” “God why is time going so slow?” Those are probably all things we utter and all things we will probably continue to utter because, we live in a “here today, gone tomorrow” world. We want certain dates to get here and we want bad days to just end. We hope that when we wake up in the morning, the day will be much better. Any of this sounding familiar? Or how about, “Only two more hours until bedtime.” “The kids are driving me crazy, can’t they go to sleep already?” Again, these are things I’ve muttered to myself.

Live.Laugh.L0ve. // Life, moments and time

& then there are moments when I just look at them and think wow, look how big they are. There are times, tears form in my eyes because, they are growing much too fast and here I am, wishing time away more often than not. There are times I look at the pictures I have taken and relive the memory of that photo as tears sting my eyes. Because in that moment, that was it. That was the moment we had, that was the time I was able to freeze, that was a memory captured. I look at their faces in the pictures and I memorize everything I can about that picture, about that moment.

Live.Laugh.L0ve. // Life, moments and time

It’s always a battle to enjoy every moment and “wishing” time would go faster. We live in a time and place where everything is supposed to be fast paced, we are supposed to look to tomorrow and the future and what comes next. We live in a time and place where the here and now doesn’t seem as important as what’s to come. I want to change that, I strive to change that. I want to teach my kids how important it is to be in the moment they are in. How important it is to make those memories and hold onto them. I want to teach them how precious time is.

Today I want to share a yummy treat with y’all that not only I loved, but my boys loved them too! I can’t even tell you how many of these they devoured! They would be fun at any birthday party or especially a fun little treat at Thanksgiving or Christmas. I will be making these again in the very near future!

- After you make the Rick Krispies, use a ice cream scooper to scoop out the rice krispies & roll each scoop into a ball with your hand. I recommend coating your hands with Crisco to prevent the rice krispies from sticking to you.

- Once you have used all of the rice krispies and rolled them into cute little balls, stick the cake pop sticks in the middle of them.

Piercings, washing dishes in a bathtub & so much sweetness

I haven’t done a photo dump in awhile. I have had pictures on my phone that I have wanted to share on here, that I have shared on Instagram. I had posts planned for the past four days and yet, I wound up unexpectedly unplugging for four days and it was wonderful. I played with my kids more. I worked on my book. I spent a lot of time with family. I lived without worrying about twitter, blogging, facebook, etc. It was nice, but I’m glad to be back. However, I think I’m going to make it a point at least every other weekend – to unplug on purpose and simply live life. Because life is best, when it is lived.

The last week of October was red ribbon week at Jay’s school and they had different themes for each day. Pajama day, Career day, sunglasses day. He rocked them all so perfectly don’t ya think? ;)

Live.Laugh.L0ve. // Piercings, washing dishes in a bathtub & so much sweetness

My cousin‘s daughters birthday party was a Halloween themed birthday party. My uncle was a scarecrow. The picture is self explanatory I think. Lol.

My kitchen sink decided to back up into my dishwasher so, after a few days of staring at the ridiculous stack of dishes in the sink, I decided to turn on some country music, take the dishes into the bathtub and wash them while listening to my boys giggle.

Writing notes to send to friends is one of my favorite things ever.

On Friday I went and had a little “me” time. I got my eyebrows waxed and nails done! I couldn’t tell you the last time I went out of the house to have “me” time. I think the last time was when I went and had my hair done for the first time, which was in may. Damn that’s a long time. Life has just been crazy and I have had “me” time at home, but it’s been because I’m hurting so bad and I needed help with the kids so I could pretty much lay on the couch and not move. Blah. Speaking of hair, I need to get it done again. Anyways, the point of this post was to show y’all my favorite new leggings.

I bought these from freaking Family dollar. Since when did a dollar store start selling such cute stuff? The shirt is from there too. I was going there for something else and when I walked past their very small clothes section, those leggings completely caught my eye. I am obsessed with the Aztec/tribal print right now! I wore this to a Halloween birthday party for my little cousin. I was supposed to wear my costume, but it was SO hot outside that I just couldn’t so, I threw on this outfit instead. It was a good choice because, I got compliments. :)

What’s your favorite clothing print right now? Polka dots, chevron, Aztec, etc?

Also, November is quickly approaching and I have some really fun posts planned. It is also my birthday month & Kage’s birthday month too! I’m now accepting sponsors for November! View and purchase ads here.

My favorite makeup products

When I actually do my makeup, I want to be able to do it fast and good. As a busy momma I don’t have a ton of time to sit there and play in the mirror with my makeup because, if I did that, my kids would be destroying my house! Seriously, it’s happened before the one time I did try and play around with it. My makeup routine is so simple and yet, I love it so much. I can either keep it natural or add fun pops of color to it. I am not really brand loyal. I use a few different brands when it comes to makeup. Allow me to show you!

Live.Laugh.L0ve. // My favorite makeup products

Elf eyeshadow has so many fun colors and can turn those beautiful eyes into stunning ones! @clivelaughl0ve is sharing her favorite makeup products! #makeup #beauty #eyes

I seriously love Elf eye shadow. Not only are the colors so absolutely gorgeous, it last all day long and I love the way some of these colors make my eyes pop!

Don't turn your nose up to drug store makeup, this mascara is amazing! @clivelaughl0ve is sharing her favorite makeup products! #makeup #beauty #eyes

I have been using this brand of mascara since I started wearing makeup in middle school. I have tried a ton of other mascaras and while some of the ones I have tried are great. I always, always wind up going back to this because, it just works that damn good. You can get it at cvs!

Sephora eyeliner is long lasting and makes your eyes really pop! @clivelaughl0ve is sharing her favorite makeup products! #makeup #beauty #eyes

When I won a gift card to Sephora, I picked out a beautiful color palette that you will see below and it came with this black eye liner. I’m telling you what, I will never go back to any other eye liner. I use this on my bottom lids and it looks SO good.

You can't go wrong with this LA Colors liquid eyeliner. @clivelaughl0ve is sharing her favorite makeup products! #makeup #beauty #eyes

This liquid eyeliner is the bomb.com. I’ve been using this brand pretty much since I discovered liquid eyeliner and it has never let me down and it lasts and looks good all day.

Sephora eyes shadow makes @clivelaughl0ve SO happy! She is sharing her favorite makeup products! #makeup #beauty #eyes

Here is that beautiful color palette I talked about a couple pictures up. I love ALL of the colors in it and I use it quite often.

BB cream by L'oreal is absolutely amazing. @clivelaughl0ve is sharing her favorite makeup products! #makeup #beauty

I puffy heart love BB cream. The l’oreal one was the first one I tried and I fell in love with it. It goes on so smooth, you don’t even feel like you are wearing makeup and the coverage is absolutely amazing. I highly recommend this, I’ll never use another foundation!

Want a subtle shimmer in your powder? You have to try this trublend minerals powder. @clivelaughl0ve is sharing her favorite makeup products! #makeup #beauty

I recently just got this powder. It was on sale and I wanted to try it out. I actually really like it. It has a bit of a shimmer to it, but I think that adds a lot of fun to your face. It’s not overly shimmery I promise, it’s very subtle, but very pretty.

Elf lipstick that @clivelaughl0ve really loves. She is sharing her favorite makeup products! #makeup #beauty #lips

I love this lipstick. It’s not sticky – I can’t stand sticky lipstick and neither can my husband when I kiss him. I love that this is moist and goes on smoothly. I also really like the natural color of it.

So, there you have it. My all over the place makeup brands! What do you think? Do I have any brands in my makeup that you love? Do you have a simple routine or do you like to play around with different makeup?

Time is already going so fast

Being an aspiring published author, I tend to be a people watcher. I notice the way people stand, how they fidget, how they hold themselves, how they move, etc. Over the years I’ve noticed that so many people seem to be in a big rush and so many people want instant gratification. I’ve noticed people tend to “not have time” more than they “have time.” Oh, I haven’t read in awhile, I just don’t have time for it. I used to love to craft, but I just can’t fit it in. I’ve heard that along with SO much more of, “Oh I used to or I haven’t” because, they just don’t have time. What happened to spending hours reading a book from cover to cover because, you just couldn’t put it down? What happened to actually doing those crafts you want to do, simply because, you wanted to do them?

Live.Laugh.L0ve. // Time is already going so fast

I get it. I understand days aren’t long enough and time seems to go so fast, but that’s the thing. Time is already going so fast, so why are we in such a rush to make it go faster. Why do we bounce from one thing to another, attempting to cram everything into one day and then longing for the things we once enjoyed doing? I just think people need to slow down, people need to enjoy life a little more and doing the things they love a little more. I don’t care how busy my day is or how much stuff I have to get done, if my boys want my attention, they have it. If at the end of day my to-do list is still not done, but I’m craving to read or craft or blog, I do it.

All we have is now. All we are guaranteed is this moment. Time is flying by so fast that before you know it, ten years is going to go by, your kids are going to be older and so are you and all those memories you wish you stopped and made, all those things you had wanted to do, are now regrets because, you just didn’t have the time. I don’t remember where I heard this, but it stuck with me, “You can always make time for the things you love” & it’s true. I’m willing to bet you make time for your kids and your spouse, you love them, so of course you do. If you love working, writing, blogging, crafting, decorating your home, reading, whatever – you learn to make time for it.

Live.Laugh.L0ve. // Time is already going so fast

Don’t let this precious time we have, go by so fast that you don’t get to make those memories or do those things you love to do. Live in the now. Stop worrying about tomorrow, for tomorrow has enough worry of it’s own. {Matthew 6:34} Enjoy every moment. Do everything that you love.
