Sharpie DIYs

The other night I went a little sharpie crazy all thanks to Pinterest of course. I was browsing sharpie DIYs to do around the house and I got sidetracked by the amazing sharipe tattoos I saw! This leads me to today’s post of the fun little sharpie things I did. These were all free handed. No planning, no tracing, nada. I simply went with what was in my head or what I saw.
I wanted to start with something small so, I grabbed a vase and drew a triangle banner on it. All the way around it and it adds a nice little touch of cuteness to a boring ole vase.

Next up, I tackled what I like to call my laptop setter oner. ;) Really though, I use this thing when I need a hard surface to write in my notebook, both books were started on this and I use my laptop on it daily. I wanted to put quotes all around it. Quotes that inspired me.

Last but not least, this bar stool/end table. I saw this design and fell in love with it. I pictured it in my head and went with it. Turns out I didn’t do too bad and my husband really likes it. He thought I had used a stencil and painted it on. #winning That actually made me happy because I was over analyzing the spots I messed up on.

I see many more sharpie products in my future. Would you ever Sharpie designs on something or have you?

DIY birthday banner + giveaway

Hey y’all! Happy Monday! I hope your weekend was great. Ours was filled with family + lots of relaxing + church, but more on that later. I wanted to show y’all some of the DIYs I did for Jay’s 5th birthday!
One thing I want to say before I get into these DIYs is that I do not believe you have to have a “Pinterest party”. My sweet friend Chelsea wrote an excellent post on why not to have one and I loved it. I don’t believe birthdays should be stressful, if you don’t have the time to do things yourself. There is NOTHING wrong with buying everything or having a small party. Now that I’ve said that here is what I did have time to do.

The birthday banner is going to seem a bit odd, so I’m going to break it down in two ways that I hope is understandable. What I had originally wanted to do for the banner, was make a triangle banner and stencil the letters onto it but, I wound up changing my mind. So, the first triangle banner you will need:
A pencil
Cardboard box{es}
Scissors

After you have cut them out spray paint them, let dry and then stencil your letters onto it. You could punch holes in the corners of the triangles & string them with ribbon. :)
I wound up not doing that because I didn’t have money for the extra paint for the letters. While I was shopping for streamers, balloons & such I came across this Happy Birthday banner for a $1 and a new idea formed. For this you will need:

Scissors
Glue
Cardboard box{es} *I used the triangles I first made*
Birthday Banner

& that is how I made the happy birthday banner that went with his theme. I laid it on the table instead of hanging it because I had a balloon + streamer background that I found on Pinterest.
I’ll be sharing more in the next couple of days, in the mean time – I have teamed up with Lish and some other wonderful ladies for an awesome giveaway!
