2 things I need to help me stay active

Staying active is something I have to do. I am a wife, I have four little ones, I’m a full time blogger, a full time stay at home mom, a writer, a picture taker, and so much more. My kids alone keep me pretty darn busy throughout the day and lets not even begin to get into everything I do inbetween taking care of them, playing with the, diapers, bottles, schoolwork, etc. If you are new to my blog, a little something you may not know is that I have a bad bag. I found out almost two years ago that I have two herniated discs in my back and one of them is pushing down on a nerve in my leg. Despite living with daily pain, I have to keep going every day because that’s what happens when you are a mom of multiples, have a house to run, and a job to do. When my monthly friend decided to play a visit, it hurts my back so bad. I don’t get normal front cramps, I get back cramps so, you can imagine the toll it takes on my back when I’m on it. Even still, I have too much to do to slow down.

I have so many things in the past to help out and keep me going, but it wasn’t until I discovered two things that I now can’t live without!

1. Playtex® Sport® Combo Packs. As an active momma, I am constatly moving, running, bending, and playing throughout the day. Before I found these, I was always worried about not being fully protected and lets face it ladies, that is the worst thing ever, can I get an amen?! Thankfully, I now have the confidence I need to go about my normal routine and not have to worry if things are going to get messy! The NEW! Playtex® Sport® now available in Pads, Liners and Combo Packs at Walmart! Now Sport Level Protection™ pads, liners and combo packs with Flexfit™ design to twist and turn with your body. Don’t let your period get in the way. PlayOn!

2. My Essential Oils! Not only do they help with my mood during my period, but they also help with the pain! I know since I started using these, my kids are a lot happier that I’m not having to tell them to “hold on” or “I can’t right now.” I use Joy + Valor to boost my mood and I create a rub of Valor + Lavender + Panaway to rub on my back and it helps so much!!

I love being an active mom and I’m glad I can continue to be one! What is your favorite acitivity? Besides playing with my kids, I’m currently into yoga!

Do you think you will give Playtex® Sport® combo packs a try?! You can find the at Walmart by the shampoo/bodywash aisles! Be sure to check them out on Facebook and Instagram as well!

Weekend Wrap Up

Happy Sunday! It’s raining here today so, we are staying warm inside with lots of cuddles, baking, and movie watching! I should probably use this time to catch up on laundry too, but with a family of six, I kind of hate laundry so, I’ll just cuddle instead! Welcome to my new weekly weekend wrap up post! Each Sunday I’ll be featuring blog posts from the week, some IG accounts I’m loving, pix from the week that I never posted, and more!

Posts from this week.

1. I made these delicious Jolly Rancher Popsicles. They were a huge hit with Jay & Kage and they are already begging me to make more! I can guarantee your kids will love them! ;) 2. I shared my February Ipsy Glam Bag a little late, but I really liked everything I got and I can’t wait to try out all of the new products! 3. Another thing my kids loved this week was the yummy Big Hero 6 treats I made. They devoured them while we watched the movie! Have you seen the movie yet? I thought it was so cute! 4. I shared a story I’ve never lived down and why I’ve already started thinking of prepaid phone plans for Jay.

The wine mentioned in this post was sent to me as part of a review I am doing. All opinions are 100% my own.

Beauty & The Boys // 5 must have items I use when planning our week

Every Sunday, I take the time to plan out our week. I wasn’t always a planner, but with the blog and when Jay started school, I began planning a little bit because there was new things happening with our schedules. School parties, fun little projects due, posts that needed to be wrote, pictures that needed to be taken, and more. Well, when we became a family of six, my planning went into overdrive. There is absolutely no way I would be able to remember everything between my husband, four kids, myself, our home, and blogging. So, every Sunday night after all the little ones are in bed, I sit down and glance at our month and plan out our week. Here is a few things that help me get through this planning phase at night.

Young Living Essential Oil: Peace & Calming

Beauty & The Boys // Young Living Essential Oil: Peace & Calming

I absolutely love Peace & Calming. When I was pregnant, I started having HORRIBLE restless leg syndrome. It was so bad and nothing worked. My husband felt so sorry for me because I couldn’t fall asleep and I was exhausted. He would massage my legs for me to try and get them to relax. It was truly just a hard time. When I heard that a couple oils helped with RLS, I immediately ordered some samples and applied them like I was suppose to and I wound up being able to fall asleep with no problem. I knew right then and there that I wanted young living essential oils in my life. I now diffuse Peace & Calming before bed in our room and I put it on my feet when I can’t sleep. {I have insomnia} I don’t ever want to run out of it!

Young Living Essential Oil: Thieves

Live.Laugh.L0ve. // Young Living Essential Oil: Thieves

Continuing with my young living essential oil journey. This week I am introducing you to my absolute favorite oil. Thieves. The smell of Thieves is amazing and I love diffusing it. Not only because it smells good, but because it is also excellent for helping prevent sickness. So, having little kids in the house, I diffuse thieves at least once a day to try and keep the germs away. I also have put it on the bottom of the boy’s feet when they are coughing and it has worked like a charm to clear the cough up completely or not make it as severe. I also try to remember to put it on Jay daily since he is in school and I don’t want him getting sick.

A few other things Thieves can be used for:

Coughing
Fever
Nausea
Hand foot and mouth disease
Ear Infections
Respiratory infections
Ringworm
and more!

Thieves is seriously just amazing to have on hand at all times, it’s one I NEVER want to run out of.

Young Living Essential oil: Peppermint

Live.Laugh.L0ve. // Young Living Essential oil: Peppermint

A couple of weeks ago I started my young living essential oil series. You can see six of my favorite oils here and you can see the oil I shared on December 3rd, which was Joy. Today, I’m going to share another absolute favorite! Peppermint. I seriously love the heck out of peppermint oil. I mainly use peppermint for headaches. I apply one drop to each side of my temple and one drop on the back of my neck, it works wonders! I’ve also stared using it on Kade for his reflux and he’s not doing it as much now, yay! I dilute it alot with olive oil and put one drop peppermint oil in a bowl with olive oil, mix it up, then i apply one drop to the bottom of each of his feet.

A few other things it can be used for:

Headaches
Itching
Breech babies
Lactation decrease
Constipation
Energy increase
Nausea

Peppermint is seriously my best friend. I get headaches pretty often so I make sure to carry peppermint with me wherever I go. I highly recommend peppermint oil and I think you will love it if you get it. It’s truly helped me and I’m making sure I never run out of it! :)

Young Living Essential Oil: Joy

Live.Laugh.L0ve. // Young Living Essential Oil: Joy

Last week, I shared my six favorite oils and I mentioned that I would be doing an oils series to share what I use each oil for and share a few other ways they can be used! This week starts that series and up first is Joy! I personally use Joy to help with my anxiety and to lift my mood up. I try not to skip putting it on first thing in the morning, but I can tell when I don’t because my anxiety is high and my mood isn’t exactly the best. With everything going on in life lately, my mood can shift and I become upset easily so using Joy has been really helpful for me.

Live.Laugh.L0ve. // Young Living Essential Oil: Joy

A few other things it can be used for:

Bonding with your baby after birth.
Postpartum depression.
Massages.
Period cramps.
Uplifting the mood.
Blood pressure.
Mood swings.
and so much more!

Joy really is a great oil to have around when you need a mood boost or if you suffer with anxiety or depression because it helps to calm you down and lift your mood. Before I started using the oils, I was really stubborn and refused to take medicine for my anxiety. I decided to just deal with it and there were days that it was unbearable. There were days I was on my knees, on the floor, crying and begging God to make the anxiety stop, to make the anxiety attack go away. Sometimes it did and sometimes it didn’t, sometimes I had to calm myself down which took quite sometime. I hate having anxiety and I hate the attacks that come with it when it’s really bad, but I can honestly say when I have Joy on, my anxiety isn’t that bad, and when I feel it rising, I apply more to my wrists and inhale it. Joy is now something I refuse to run out of!

Do you suffer from Anxiety? Do you currently take anything or do anything that helps it?

6 of my favorite oils

Live.Laugh.L0ve. // 6 of my favorite oils #youngliving #essentialoils #younglivingessentialoils

If you follow me on social media, you have seen my talking about my recent love for young living essential oils. I love them so much, that I decided to become a distributor. I love talking about the YL {young living} oils and sharing the different ways they work. I’m one of those people who doesn’t believe in running to the doctors every time myself or my kids are sick, instead I try to treat it at home. These oils help me do that so much. I remember when Kage was sick last week; I’m taking watery eyes, horrible cough, slightly feverish, and I put Thieves on the bottom of his feet, I was blown away when he woke up the next day and all he had was a small cough. I was completely and 100% sold by that alone. I was also sold on YL oils when I was pregnant and had RSL {restless leg syndrome} and I used peace and calming on the bottom of my feet and I had my first night of peaceful sleep in awhile! I could go on and on, but I’ll get to that stuff in this series.

Today I’m going to share six young living essential oils that I love. Then, starting next week, I’ll be sharing each oil I’m using, what I’m using it for, how I use it, and other ways it can be used! I am so excited to share about YL oils! If you want to follow our essential oils journey, you can do so on my newest IG account here.

Peace & Calming is another favorite! I love putting it on mine & the boys feet to help relax us and sleep better at night. I also like diffusing it in my room 20 minutes before bedtime.

Thieves is one of my all time favorites so far. I love diffusing Thieves, it makes my house smell SO good. I also use it on the bottom of my boys feet to prevent sickness.

I love using Lavender on my back to help with my back pain. I use it with a couple of different oils for my back that I will be introducing in my YL oil series.
