Last weekend we celebrated my sister in law’s birthday! I wasn’t feeling very good, but I decided to get dressed up and go visit with her and my in-laws for about half an hour until I felt bad enough that I had to go home. I adore my sister in law. I’ve known her since we were in high school together, we are the same age, and we’ve always been close! I loved that I wound up marrying her brother and we got to be family! I happen to be on lucky girl when it comes to my in-laws because, I love them all. We all get along and they are so laid back. I’m so happy I’ve been in their family for almost ten years!

Shirt dress + Leggings = Christmas gifts // Boots – Walmart

It has been wayyyyy too long since I have done a fashion post and now that I’ve lost the baby weight, I’m ready to dive back in. I don’t get dressed every single day, but I want to document the days that I do actually make time to do so, especially since my husband has been loving the days I make myself look decent and I’m not walking around looking like something out of the walking dead. I need to get a new battery for my camera remote that way I can get away from taking pictures in the bathroom again!

Stitch Fix Style

This was my fourth Stitch Fix. {That is a referral link} I have grown to love stitch fix so much and I’ve been so bad about showing off the clothes in the box, but I’m going to get better about that. Starting today.

I really loved the items in this box. I wound up keeping the black top, I would have kept the maxi dress because the color is gorgeous and it felt like heaven, but I didn’t like the elastic middle.

The shirt was so fun and I love the color, I just didn’t like how tight it was in the arms. I styled it with a necklace I bought from Caroline G.

Bracelets are from Kohl’s.

This was the top I kept. I love how loose it is and I love that it can be dressed up for a nice night out or worn casual. I especially love the lace and see through part of the top. I think it adds the perfect touch to the shirt.

This is my second Stitch fix I have received! I didn’t blog about the first one was because not only was I sick and didn’t get around to posting pictures, I put down the wrong size {oops} and everything wound up being cute, but too big. When I ordered my next fix I made sure to fix that and WOW I was blown away and my next one is already scheduled. Woo Woo.

Do you rock to your own style?

As I start to dig deeper into myself, I’m starting to realize what my style is. You might think that you don’t have to dig deep to figure it out, it’s just clothes and to some people it is just clothes and it really doesn’t matter, but for me, it’s another expression of who I am. My style shows a glimpse into my personality, it’s a form of creative art that you get to wear, that you get to let whoever you come into contact with see. I used to be one of those girls who cared so much about what other people thought about my clothes, to the point where I drove myself crazy trying to get ready to go out somewhere. It wasn’t until a couple of months ago that I started pushing those thoughts aside and really focusing on what I like, what articles of clothing make me happy, what articles of clothing show a little bit of my personality, that I stopped driving myself crazy when trying to get ready to go out. It has been a slow process of stepping out of that comfort zone of what I know for a fact people like and stepping into my own comfort zone of what I know I freaking love.

My outfits are slowly starting to change and I think they are changing for the better. You can probably even see it on my fashion pinterest board. The new things I’m pinning and on my Instagram with the new outfits I’m sharing. It’s fun and so freeing to know that I can wear what I want, what makes me feel good and what makes me feel happy and be comfortable doing so.

Friday was such a busy day. I woke up about 5:30 and was pretty much going all day long. I ran an errand before taking Jay to school. There was a fun little Christmas run at Jay’s school in the morning and afterwards I was able to take him home. I dropped him off at my moms to spend the night with his cousin. Then Kage and I went shopping. I busted out my tripod for the first time and it was so much fun playing around with it and I loved that Kage wanted to be in the pictures. Afterwards we got a lot of cleaning/organizing done. After bedtime, it was a little more cleaning and blog stuff. I was beyond ready for bed at the end of the day!

I can’t believe Christmas is right around the corner! I’ve been in a festive mood, if you can’t tell from the above pictures.
