Jay was not wanting to take pictures, he just wanted to go trick or treating, but I was happy that he let me snap a few! :)

I wasn’t allowed to take the boys Trick or Treating this year, it was the first year I missed it, but they still had a blast with Hubby, my mom, and my step-dad. :) They also looked freaking awesome in their Halloween costumes!

How was your Halloween? What was your little one{s} dressed as?!

A little peek at Halloween around our house

A couple of weeks go, I hit up Hobby Lobby for some fun Halloween crafts. We haven’t completed all of them yet, but I’m hoping to get them done this weekend! I also bought a couple of adorable Halloween decorations from cvs a couple of weeks ago as well. I love decorating and I especially love decorating around the holidays. I wanted to show y’all what Halloween is looking like around our house so far!

I really love this purple spiderweb fabric and I still have a lot of it left! I would love some ideas on how to use up the rest of it!

I hope y’all’s Halloween was fun! Ours defintely was. The boys had an absolute blast and I am still tired from all the walking around and staying up late last night. Have a great Friday!

Carving our first pumpkin

Happy Halloween everyone! What are your plans for today? Are you staying in or going out? What are you and your little ones being for Halloween? We are going trick or treating of course, my little ones are going as ninjas and I’m going as a Witch. I let the boys pick out my costume this year and while it’s not my favorite costume in the world, it’s pretty cute so, I’m going with it! =D Over the weekend we carved a pumpkin for the very first time. I don’t remember ever carving a pumpkin growing up {correct me if I’m wrong mom!} so, to me this was not only the first time the boys were carving one, in my memory, it was the first time I was carving one as well!

Watching them scoop out the pumpkin seeds was both cute and hilarious. The “gooey stuff” kept getting on their hands and then I would stick my hand in the pumpkin to pull out a big handful of seeds and “gooey stuff.” I would set it on the tin foil wrapped pan I had next to us and then I would show my boys how gross my hands were and they would laugh and try and mimic what I did. Then came the pumpkin carving time. I outlined the spider they picked out of the carving book and we got to work!

Hubby wasn’t home so I had Jay and Kage both try and take pictures of me with them as it was whoever’s turn to sit in my lap and carve the pumpkin. The pictures definitely aren’t that great, but they aren’t half bad for a 5 1/2 year old and an almost 4 year old. :) Plus, they are pictures I will hold onto forever.

After we were done, I had to of course take a few pictures with the boys sitting next to our pumpkin. They were pretty amusing making faces at the pumpkin, chatting and laughing as they sat there.

We turned the candles on, turned the lights off in the kitchen so it would get dark and to us, our pumpkin looked awesome. The boys loved it and they sat there for awhile with the lights off and the spider pumpkin glowing. They were so happy and so at ease.

I should mention I hate spiders and I would have preferred not to have a spider pumpkin, but my boys wanted it and they loved it when it was complete and to be honest so did I. It was our first pumpkin and we didn’t do too shabby. I am going to start making this a tradition in our house every year!

Did y’all carve a pumpkin this year?

9 of my favorite Halloween pins

Halloween is one of my favorite times of the year. It always has been, especially since Halloween is in fall and fall is my absolute favorite season. I love decorating for Halloween. I love seeing all of the spooky and fun Halloween decorations in front yards. I love how excited my kids get thinking about going trick or treating. I not only love dressing my kids up for Halloween, but I love dressing up too! Yes, at almost 25 years old, I still dress up. #noshame Anyways, I thought it would be fun to share my top nine favorite pins that I have pinned to pinterest for fall/Halloween!

@clivelaughl0ve is sharing 9 of her favorite #Halloween pins

1. Halloween washi tape frames. I adore washi tape and I think these ones are great. I can’t wait to see if they decorate more frames during all the different holidays! Hell, I may decorate frames with some washi tape for every holiday.
2. Dollar store candles. I love how Kelsey decorated these for Halloween, the one with the tape is my favorite.
3. Candy bar mummies. How cute are these?! If you consider mummies cute that is and in this case, I do.
4. Ombre Halloween pillow. Not only am I loving the black, orange and white ombre, but I think the bats and spiders give it the perfect touch.
5. I don’t know what this is because, apparently I didn’t check to make sure it was from the right source. It looks like pudding, orange candy {maybe} & crushed oreos. I pinned it here and I think I’m going to have to try what I just said, these just look so damn good.
6. DIY Wreath. I love that this wreath has the perfect touch of both Fall and Halloween, if you haven’t caught on yet, I love them both. ;)
7. Glitter Happy Halloween garland. The garland IS cute, but I love everything about this setup!
8. Halloween chevron wreath. Absolutely perfection. I just don’t think you can find a cuter chevron Halloween than this one!
9. Halloween gallery wall. I think everything on this wall is SO cute. Those spiders hanging inside the frame are perfection!

What is your favorite from the list above? Do you have a Halloween or Fall pinterest board? I would love for you to share it with me in the comments section!

DIY Fall and Halloween Mantel

Happy Tuesday! Anybody else have a three day weekend? We did and it was absolutely wonderful. I am not ready for it to be Tuesday and for life to be busy during the week again, but we got plenty of rest this weekend and spent lots of time just hanging around. It was nice. Today I wanted to show you my DIY fall and Halloween mantel. The only thing I bought that is on my mantel is the spider candle & the boo sign & of course the candy corn. Other than that everything else I made!

Please ignore the tape on top of my mantel, normally no one can see it and it’s hold my leaves, bats and sign! :)

For the leaves, i just googled fall leaves, found a template I liked. I then printed them out, colored them with sharpie and added a string to them so they would hang from my mantel. I did the same thing with the bats, except I didn’t color them since they are already black. The fall banner, I just made a triangle, cut out enough for the words FALL + drawing pumpkins on them. I used sharpie writing the words and drawing the pumpkins too. The white, black & orange thing {I really don’t know what to call it}, I used coffee filters and just folded each piece a few times, colored the tips orange and black, glued them all together and wa-la, an extra cute decor for free!

If you have shown off your fall mantel, leave a link in the comments below so I can check it out!
