Words and Pictures #1

Happy Monday!! And yes, it is happy. Us Thrivers love Mondays! ;) I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. We had lots of rain + storms, but we did get to get out and go to my in-laws for awhile and I had a great Mother’s Day. I haven’t done a photo dump lately so, I thought I would. I’m going to go back to doing this weekly. I miss having random pictures and words to look back on, on my blog!

With all these changing weather here in Texas, we have had some nasty coughs and sore throats. So, I’ve been putting Thieves on our feet and then diffusing Thieves, Franckencise, and Lemon! I love my oils!

Jay, Kage, and I started our first chapter book. Through the looking glass. I am so happy that they are enjoying it and I’m loving reading it to them! // I send out a lot of samples for Thrive so I have to have bubble mailers at all times, I found these ADORABLE bubble mailers at Target in the $1 section! // The babies are finally old enough to be eating baby food! Somebody slow time down!

I want to do something like this to my hair. It’s soooo pretty! // I created a poster board for my goals this month! // One day last week, I was having a bad day. Hubby had gone to the store to pick up a few things, and he came back with a boquet of roses. That cheered me right up!

I had two dentist vists within a couple of hours of each other, the dentist I went to was about 30 minutes from my house so, I didn’t want to drive back and forth. Instead I spent that time at the nearest Target. I broswed around, shopped the $1 section, and grubbed out // I also found these cute pocket tampons and I pretty much love them.

How was your week and weekend?! Do you have anything planned for this week?

Life according to my phone

I haven’t done a life according to my phone post in awhile so, I figured I should! I love capturing little moments on my phone and looking back and seeing what we have done or remembering a certain day with pictures. I take a ton of pictures, it’s the photographer in me, but I’m glad I do because I can look back on them and smile.

A little life lately

Life lately has been hectic and busy! I miss blogging so much and I’m determined to start writing everyday again! For now though, a little life lately for ya! Hmmm.. where to start…

Let’s see. Jay’s first week of school was great! He loves his teacher and keep going on and on about the new friends he is making. It’s freaking adorable. I am so thankful that he loves school and that he’s a morning person. We don’t have knock down drag out fights about getting up and ready, our mornings are pretty smooth and I’m SO thankful for that. He is growing up so fast, I feel like I can’t keep up!

Live.Laugh.L0ve. // A little life lately

{Delicious cheese enchiladas from pasados. // Jay and Kage playing on the seesaw at mimaw’s house. // Those mini starburts are AMAZING! // 21 weeks bump picture. // A book I got from a sweet friend. It was pretty good! // The last two pictures are the boys and my cousin having a blast!}

Kage has been growing like a weed. He’s so freaking precious. I’m thinking about sending him to part time pre-k so he can get used to being away from me for next year when he starts Kindergarten. He is SO attached to me and most of the time, when I go somewhere, he freaks out and wants to come with me so I have to get him used t being away from me and I think part time pre-k will hopefully do the trick and be good for him!

Live.Laugh.L0ve. // A little life lately

{The boys and I chillin in the pool on a hot summer day. // The boys and I at pasados with my parents. // Kage and me playing legos in bed. // Some yummy Ice cream! // Another really good book! I definitely recommend it! // A beautiful sky! // A sweet package from my dear friend!}

Hubby has been working so much lately, but pretty soon we are going on vacation and we will get nine whole days with him and I am beyond looking forward to that. I can’t wait to be on the beach with him. Walking hand in hand with our toes in the sand, listening to our boys laughter as they wade in the water. It’s going to be pure bliss.

Live.Laugh.L0ve. // A little life lately

{This cookie from pizza hut was freaking amazing! // A yummy strawberry cream cheesecake, it was yummy. // I re-read the twilight series because I haven’t read it in forever. I forgot how much better the books are than the movies. // Kage being adorable while we were waiting for Jay to get out of school. // More sees saw fun.}

I have been doing pretty good aside from my back. The babies are growing like they are supposed to and my belly is getting bigger. I am craving sweets big time, it’s ridiculous. Lol. Unfortunately my back pain is getting worse. I am now limping when I walk and it hurts so damn bad. I’ll be talking to my doctor soon about what else we can do because I can barely do anything and it’s just crazy.

How has life been for you?

Fireworks, a beautiful sky, cards against humanity, and more!

I have been without Internet for about three days and it’s finally back on! I thought I was going to go crazy for those three days, but having no Internet did give me more time to focus on what I want to bring to my blog, work on upcoming posts, and take pictures for said posts! I even have a vlog going up tomorrow for the first time in forever so, be sure to come back tomorrow for that! :) In the meantime, while I finish up the posts I have in the works, I wanted to share a little life lately with y’all. Over the weekend, my husband was home for four wonderful days and I basically ignored my phone. Seriously, I barely even snapped pictures, which kinda makes me sad that I didn’t document all of our fun, but at the same time, it was so nice to disconnect from my phone.

Over our four day weekend, Hubby and I had an all day date last Thursday. The boys stayed at my moms so, Hubby and I went to look at a new vehicle since I’ll be needed a bigger one before the twins arrive. We went to the mall to do some shopping, and we even got to see a movie later that night! We saw 22 Jump Street, which was hilarious! It was so nice to have a day with my man and much needed. The shirt I was wearing on IG yesterday is one I got while we were at the mall. Friday, we took the boys to pick out a couple of toys for being good while they were at my moms. We spent the rest of the day relaxing and then Friday night we went and saw the most beautiful fireworks! Saturday, we did some cleaning around the house and then went to a family BBQ where we stayed up way too late and laughed way too loud. {You’ll see why in pictures below} Sunday was spent straight up relaxing and recovering from our busy weekend! On to some of the pictures from our weekend and the beginning of this week! :)

A little life lately

Happy Monday friends! It’s the last week of school for Jay! Woo hoo! I can’t wait for summer break to officially start! I wanted to pop in for a little life lately. I’m trying to get back into the swing of blogging. It may take me a little longer to be back at it like normal, but I’m trying! {If you don’t know why, you can read about that here.}

Live.Laugh.L0ve. // A little life lately

A little selfie action since I hadn’t taken one in forever. // Nerd slush’s are the BEST! // Storm clouds rolling in on two different days. I love snapping pictures of storm clouds and then editing them. :)

Live.Laugh.L0ve. // A little life lately

The boys playing in the rain last weekend. // Kage being silly. He’s always putting on random stuff and it cracks me up. // Daddy & Kage playing a game. // The beautiful cushions we bought for our swing.

Live.Laugh.L0ve. // A little life lately

Jay had just jumped down from the tree and if you can’t tell, he was pretty happy about it. // Bedtime story on Friday night. It’s one of favorites. // The boys climbing the tree. They figured out how to climb without my help and then jump from the tree. Oy vey. // The beautiful dress I bought from Ross. I bought it a size bigger that way it will last me through the summer as my belly grows. :)

How has life been for you lately? Are your kids already out for the summer?!

A beautiful life

I have been soaking myself in this beautiful life we live. I’ve wrapped myself in the love and warmth of it. I’ve been reminded of how truly precious this life is and I’ve been making sure I’m being 100% present in it. It has been over a week since Jacqui‘s son, Ryan, passed away. It has been over a week that I have mourned for a little boy I never knew, it has been over a week that I can’t get Jacqui and her husband out of my head, it has been over a week since I have viewed the world a little different. I didn’t know sweet little Ryan, but his death impacted me greatly. Kage is just a year older than Ryan and this really stopped me in my tracks. This has made me take a hard look at life, at home I’m spending my time, and if I’m truly putting everything I have into those I love. Life is so busy isn’t it? We have kids to raise, a house to clean, laundry to be done and so much more, but the passing of little Ryan has made me stop and think about what is really important. I took those thoughts and I turned them into action. Most of my cleaning, blogging, social media, etc. has been put off until after my kids go to sleep at night or during quite/nap time. I have wanted to be present, really present, in my kids lives, my husband life and my family lives. We have played outside more, laughed more, cuddled more, and talked more. We have randomly went to grab ice cream several times for no other reason than we can. I’ve been making memories, capturing moments, and enjoying every second of it.

Live.Laugh.L0ve. // A beautiful life

I was making Kage laugh while waiting to pick up Jay from school by sticking the toys he brought with him in random places. :)

Live.Laugh.L0ve. // A beautiful life

One day last week Jay decided he wanted to vacuum up the crumbs for me. I wasn’t going to stop him. ;)

Live.Laugh.L0ve. // A beautiful life

Whenever Jay is concentrating really hard, he always sticks his tongue out. It’s the cutest thing and it makes me smile every time.

Live.Laugh.L0ve. // A beautiful life

After playing in the sprinkler, Kage was cold so, I bundled him up and sat him on my lap so he could get warm. That earned a kiss for momma. :)

Live.Laugh.L0ve. // A beautiful life

I love a bouquet of flowers, but Hubby nailed it with this bouquet of candy on Mother’s Day!

Live.Laugh.L0ve. // A beautiful life

No hot summer day spent in the sprinklers is complete without ice cream afterwards. :)

Live.Laugh.L0ve. // A beautiful life

Mother’s Day was such a good day. By the time I took this picture, we were all tired and Kage’s allergies were bothering him so much, but he still wanted in on the picture taking action.

My sweet Hubby. I love him so much.

Life according to my phone

Hey friends and happy Sunday. I hope your weekend has been great! :) This week I haven’t taken too many pictures on my phone because I have been focusing on my little ones, working on my blog design/makeover and taking pictures with my actual camera. I have capture random moments of life though and I figure they are worth sharing.

On our day spent outside where I experienced some mommy guilt even though it was a good day, we enjoyed some taco bell sitting in the back of the truck and the boys loved it. By the way, Kage could eat Taco Bell all the time for the nachos if I let him. Jay on the other hand, would live off McDonalds if he could.

Little Moments

With everything going on, I’m just trying to focus on one moment at a time. Mostly that consist of sitting on the couch listening to my boys tell me stories, watching them play or watching TV. Other times it consist of actually being apart of those little moments.

Kage and I sitting in the truck waiting for Jay to get out of school. We don’t sit in the truck very long before he gets out, but I love spending those few minutes with Kage and watching him be silly. // A sweet picture quote my sister in law sent me. Moments I’ve been focusing on lately

Life lately has been well… life. I know I’ve been slipping in blogging lately, hell I’ve been slipping in life lately. There has been so much going on and so much to deal with that I find myself getting lost more often than not. I find myself trying so hard to just be present and not think about things because, if I think about them, they wind up consuming me and bringing me down and the last thing I want to do is be is down. That’s another post for another day though. So, instead of letting my thoughts drag me down, I’ve been focusing on the moment and this is what’s been happening in the moment lately…

Live.Laugh.L0ve. // Moments I've been focusing on lately

Kage won’t be starting school until next year because of the way his birthday falls so, we have been doing a little school at home and he is really loving it. // I absolutely love this shirt I bought for both of the boys from The Printed Palette.

Live.Laugh.L0ve. // Moments I've been focusing on lately

Spending time over at my moms. I love hanging out with my mom, she is one of my best friends and the boys love playing over there too. // The freaking CUTE stuff I got from the $1 section at Target. I should mention it was my first time EVER shopping the dollar section there. // Movie night with my boys always includes grubbing out on popcorn.

Live.Laugh.L0ve. // Moments I've been focusing on lately

Game night with my boys. They had a blast tossing the bean bags and trying to get x’s or o’s in a row. // Sooooo my washer broke and decided to flood my entire kitchen, I was so pissed. Come to find out, my thong somehow got sucked into the hose and was blocking the water. Awesome, just awesome. Thankfully Hubby fixed it. // Jay playing over at my mommas house.

Live.Laugh.L0ve. // Moments I've been focusing on lately

A beautiful day spent outside. // Kage playing in the grass while we were waiting for Jay to get out of school. // My husband sent this to me. He knows me so well. :)

Live.Laugh.L0ve. // Moments I've been focusing on lately

Kage was watching The Croods for the twentieth time while I was crafting and I thought it was hilarious how amazed by the movie he was, just like he was the first time he watched it. // I created an account on Polyvore and had some fun putting outfits together. // Jay came home sick one day. He threw up in the classroom near his desk. :(

Live.Laugh.L0ve. // Moments I've been focusing on lately

Jay and I making silly faces and sending them to daddy. // I hadn’t had Starbucks in forever, it was delicious. // The boys playing quietly by the back door as it rained outside, while I sat there watching them and thinking about life.

Live.Laugh.L0ve. // Moments I've been focusing on lately

Sorry for the blurry picture, but I couldn’t stop laughing when Jay walked into our room like this. // I was in total awe that Kage put the stickers in the right place on this beach sheet. #proudmomma // The beautiful butterfly my sister got me.

Live.Laugh.L0ve. // Moments I've been focusing on lately

We spent the day at my mom’s house while it was storming all day. In between storms the boys were outside playing. Jay was shooting at the storm, hoping to make it go away. :) // Hubby bought me these absolutely bad ass shoes! I love them so much. When I saw them at Kohl’s, I knew they were going to be coming home with me. // A little selfie for the Friday Introduction that Naptime Diaries and The Tiny Twig do on Fridays on Instagram.

Live.Laugh.L0ve. // Moments I've been focusing on lately

I rarely eat chocolate, but when I do it’s normally Reese’s. By the way, I ate way more than three. #fatassproblems. // Daddy and Jay playing a memory game. // I have found a new love for making tassels.

Live.Laugh.L0ve. // Moments I've been focusing on lately

My very first tassel garland. I freaking love it! Hubby saw it and said, “You made that?!” I really love when he asks me that because it reminds me that he is always in awe of the things I create and that makes my heart happy.

Live.Laugh.L0ve. // Moments I've been focusing on lately

Jay rocking his new hat and sunglasses. :) He melts my heart so much and he thinks he’s a total bad ass. {Because he is of course.} ;)

Live.Laugh.L0ve. // Moments I've been focusing on lately

Making tassels and watching titanic. I love titanic and I never get tired of watching it.

Live.Laugh.L0ve. // Moments I've been focusing on lately

Last but not least, I have a tassel giveaway going on on my Instagram. Hop on over and enter to win! :)

Silly & sweet boys, a weird date night, a new book series and more

Dear boys, first thank you for keeping me entertained at my doctors appointment. I thought taking you to said appointment was going to be a nightmare, but y’all surprised me and did so well and even made me laugh. My doctor was happy to finally meet you Jay since he had already seen Kage a couple of times. Also, thank you for stopping your before bed dance session to let me snap a picture of y’all in your angry bird pajamas. I know it might seem crazy now, but one day when y’all get older, you will understand why mommy wanted all of these pictures.

Live.Laugh.L0ve. // Silly & sweet boys, a weird date night, a new book series and more

Dear Hubby, we were kid free on Friday night and while we didn’t get to do much. It was nice that we got to go to IHOP at one am when we were craving it. I really couldn’t believe the drunk dude in the parking lot that asked us for money {who was probably going to go back across the street to the bar to keep drinking} or the fact that he was asking other people for money as well. I also found it slightly comical when he was only addressing the men when he approached a couple and how he shut up real fast when you decided to be an asshole to him and stop him mid-sentence. #youknowhowtokeepitreal I also couldn’t believe the conversation I overheard of the couple sitting behind us when he told his girl that, “She was being annoying.” which apparently was why he was acting mad. Either way, the date with you was wonderful. As my friend Kristine likes to say, #keepithot {Sorry Kristine, I’m totally stealing that!} ;)

Live.Laugh.L0ve. // Silly & sweet boys, a weird date night, a new book series and more

Dear Jay, thank you for being so wonderfully you. You surprised me by almost falling asleep on the living room floor after you threw a fit because of what, I don’t even remember. It still made me laugh to think you were going to fall asleep right there. Thank you for being so incredibly sweet. You hadn’t seen your cousin {and best friend} in almost a week and a half and you missed him so much. Well, Friday you were staying the night over at Mimaw’s house with Kage and your cousin so, you woke up bright and early at five thirty {I wasn’t too thrilled about that} and when I finally let you get up for the morning a couple of hours later, you immediately went to your coloring book to color a picture for him. As soon as you saw your cousin you said, “Hey, I have something for you.” You presented him with the picture you colored and his face lit up and he gave you a big hug. #insertmeltedheart Thank you for also keeping me entertained during our first “scary” storm of the season by telling me the story of what was going on with the little action figures you were playing with.

Live.Laugh.L0ve. // Silly & sweet boys, a weird date night, a new book series and more

Live.Laugh.L0ve. // Silly & sweet boys, a weird date night, a new book series and more

Live.Laugh.L0ve. // Silly & sweet boys, a weird date night, a new book series and more

Dear Kage, Thank you for also being so wonderfully you. I gave you and Jay some party hats to play with. They were in a bag from your birthday party back in November and y’all wouldn’t stop asking to play with them so, I finally gave in. You decided to make fun shapes with them and it totally made me smile. Thank you for asking me to take the most random pictures {you ask me quite often}, they are always ridiculous and normally make me laugh. Also Kage, I just want to say how amazed I am that you have inherited the drawing/artist talent from my side of the family. You are only four years old and you are a self taught drawer. You draw pictures from memory of stuff you’ve seen or watched and I love watching you put pencil, crayon or marker to paper because I know I’m always going to be blown away.

Live.Laugh.L0ve. // Silly & sweet boys, a weird date night, a new book series and more

Dear self, your everyday mom outfit is ridiculous. Except, in the picture below your wearing slightly big pants and you normally have on leggings, either way, you should probably get a new everyday mom outfit. #justsayin You should also probably hang that damn mirror, that way it will get off of your floor and you can stop telling the boys fifty times a day to get away from it that way they don’t break it.

Live.Laugh.L0ve. // Silly & sweet boys, a weird date night, a new book series and more

Dear reading at five thirty in the morning, when Jay woke up on Friday bright and early, I made him lay down and watch two movies because there was no way I was getting up that early during spring break. He surprisingly didn’t argue and I tried to go back to sleep with no success. So, I picked up where I left off on the Matched series I am reading. I must say, I do like the book, I’m not sure if I love it, it’s kind of slow which frustrates me to no end, but I do like the main characters and I do like the story that is being told. I always relish in any quiet time I have to read since reading is so close to my heart.

Live.Laugh.L0ve. // Silly & sweet boys, a weird date night, a new book series and more

Dear Sunday afternoon jam session, you made me smile so big. Seeing the boys love for music that Hubby and I share warms my heart. Also, I loved that Hubby was willing to let the boys listen to music using the new head phones that literally had just been delivered. {my boys like to break things} I loved that he let them cuddle up next to him and let the music flow through them all. It’s moments like that, that just simply blow me the hell away. #weareblessedwithadamngoodman

Live.Laugh.L0ve. // Silly & sweet boys, a weird date night, a new book series and more

Dear random things, the double rainbow we saw on Saturday night was AMAZING. The picture just doesn’t even come close to doing it justice. The boldness of the colors stunned me. Normally the rainbows I see are far away, but this one was so close. I felt like I could reach out and touch it if I got just a little closer to it. I was almost tempted to follow it to see where it ended because that’s how close it looked. One of the rainbows was a full arch and so perfect. I wanted to see where it hit the ground and if the colors radiated everywhere on the ground or if it stopped somewhere in the sky. We all appreciated that rainbow for sure. #godspromise I won a giveaway from The Modern Tulip and that bracelet came in such cute packaging and the bracelet itself, WOW. You’ll have to wait for another post to see that. To the Wonka Randoms Candy – thank you for being so delicious.
