I never knew…

When I first found out I was pregnant with Jay, there was so much I was told about motherhood, good and bad things. When I held him in my arms for the first time though, the whole world seemed to change in that moment and as I’ve been on this journey through motherhood for six years now, I’ve realized there were so many things I never knew about motherhood.

Live.Laugh.L0ve. // I never knew...

I never knew motherhood was so hard. I want to go ahead and get this one out of the way. Because, let’s face it… motherhood really is hard. Motherhood is no walk in the park. There have been so many days that motherhood has tested my patience, made me question myself & how good of a mother I am. Motherhood has pushed me over the edge into tears and some days, into complete frustration. I know that these moments I have while my kids are young, are nothing compared to what they are going to be when my kids become teenagers. I know because I was a teenager and I know some of the hell I put my parents through and some of the hell my friends put their parents through. So, while I have days where it’s hard, I know it’s not as bad as I make it out to be on those bad days.

I never knew I could love so much. I’ve always been the type of person who loves deeply, but when I fell in love with my husband, it consumed me and wrapped me in warmth. When I became pregnant for the first time, I knew I was going to love my baby beyond words, but I didn’t know just how much until I felt his first kick & held him in my arms for the first time. This was a different kind a love. A kind of love that is absolutely instant. The kind of love that makes your heart swell and double in size. There was so much love in my heart that I didn’t think it was possible to love anyone else as much as I loved my husband and Jay. Then, I got pregnant with Kage and I always wondered how I was going to love them both. How was there going to be room in my heart for that much love? Again, it was like my heart grew in size. It grew and love simply overflowed from my heart. There is always enough room in your heart for more love and now that I’m pregnant with baby number three, I know my heart will grow even more to hold the love for this baby as well.

Live.Laugh.L0ve. // I never knew...

I never knew how proud I would be of being a mother & how proud of my children I am. I know that moms don’t get a lot of credit for simply being a mother and everything that comes with being a mother. There is nothing I am prouder of though, than being a mom. Being a mother is one of my greatest blessings and one of my most rewarding jobs. I may not be paid for it. I may not have climbed a corporate ladder to get to it, but I grew babies in my belly. My body nourished them and I kept them safe inside of me and when I welcomed them into this world, I cherish and love them and keep them safe the best I can. I am paid in hugs & kisses, in love so big that it is as wide as an ocean, in whispered I love yous and the sheer pleasure of cuddling with them, playing with them, or simply watching them sleep. I am proud of the little boys they have become. How smart, kind, and helpful they are. I am proud of their sweetness and their manners. I am proud of so many things they do, that it amazes me.

I never knew how many friends I would lose. I became a mother at the age of nineteen, an age where most of my friends were in college and partying and doing their own thing and it became apparent who my true friends were at that point. I never knew how messy my house could get. I never knew how tired I was going to be. I never knew how chaotic life would become, but I wouldn’t change any of it for the world.

Live.Laugh.L0ve. // I never knew...

I never knew how much fun I would have randomly making big red floats in the middle of the day or eating watermelon outside with my boys. I never knew I would have fun building towers and making car noises. I never knew how much fun it would be to spend the day having water gun fights and playing at the park. I never knew how much fun it would be to throw my to-do list out the window and just have a day filled with fun.

Live.Laugh.L0ve. // I never knew...

Motherhood is so much more than I ever imagined and I love it.

I’m linking up for On My Heart.

Bat Sh*t Crazy

I wanted to do this linkup because not only is it going to be hilarious to read all the posts, but we all have things we do that our friends/boyfriends/husband/family members think we are a little crazy for and I think it would be great to take those things and turn them into a funny blog posts where we can laugh at our crazy little quirks! Let’s get on with it shall we…

Live.Laugh.L0ve. // Bat Sh*t Crazy

I’m Bat Shit Crazy because…

I dance in the car no matter who is watching. I act silly and I constantly wonder if it’s embarrassing my husband and then I realize I really don’t care because I’m having fun.

I drink big red out of wine glasses because that’s just how I roll.

I bite my nails and my husband hates that!

I have insane fears and my mind is constantly wondering things. I something say these things out loud and my husband just looks at me like what the eff.

I crack my knuckles… alot!

I leave a bit of something at the bottom of almost every drink. I don’t understand why I can’t finish it before getting a new one.

I’ve walked outside several times barefoot when it’s freezing outside.

I have to have my red bull in the morning, like most people have to have their coffee or I go a little crazy.

I either sneeze really loud or like a mouse. My husband thinks it’s weird.

I rarely ever sit still… something has to be moving if I’m sitting down and it’s normally my foot and my hubs is constantly putting a hand on my leg if I’m sitting near him to stop the movement.

I sit in the most random positions.

I’m a crier. Literally, lots of stuff can bring instant tears to my eyes no matter how hard I fight it.

When I am laughing really hard, it becomes a silent laugh and so it looks ridiculous.

My laundry basket is normally in the living room because it’s easier to drag into the laundry room from there.

I have to slowly put clothes in the washer, one by one, turning things inside out and what not before I place them in the washer. I can’t just throw them all in at once.

I think I’ll stop there. Write a post about why your bat shit crazy and link up or leave a few reasons in the comments!

I left a ton out which you easily find in the archives, but these are the things I wanted to put in this recap! Sorry it’s so long, but if you took the time to read it, thank you from the bottom of my heart and I hope you have a wonderful New Years!

Literary Junkies linkup

I am so honored to be co-hosting with Taylor & Christine for this months Literary Junkies linkup. I am such a book lover, it’s kind of ridiculous. I basically want to have a library in my house and I’m working my way towards that. Books just have a special place in my heart, not only do I like to read them, I love to write them! Grab a button and link up with us!

Pink Heels Pink Truck

1. If you could write a book, what would it be about?
- It would be filled with passion and romance. It would be filled with action and adventure. It would be cozy and exciting! ;)

2. If you had to read one book or trilogy for the rest of your life, what would it be?
- One book would be Northern Lights, one trilogy would be The Hunger games!

3. Who is your current favorite book character and why?
- Katniss, hands down. She cares so much about her family. She is willing to die for her sister, to fight for what should be fought for. She is willing to risk it all at the cost of her freedom and the people she loves freedom! She is strong and beautiful.

4. Is there a book your read every year during the holiday season? If so, what is it and why?
- Mmmm, I don’t really have a favorite Christmas book. I guess I need to get one.

5. Do you have any books on your Christmas list? Name a few.
- Umm, pretty much any book from Nora Roberts that I don’t have and any book from Nicholas sparks that I don’t have. They are my two favorite authors!

6. What is a book you read and loved that you didn’t expect to?
- The lightbearers. Once I read the description I was like ummm, I dunno about this and then I wound up loving it!

Also be sure to join us for the twitter party at 7pm CST! We are discussing Safe Haven {an amazing book} & there is a few great prizes up for grabs! See y’all there!

Literary Junkies Linkup – Hot Ice

I love, love, love reading. I love it just as much as I love writing. I basically need to do both as much as I need to breathe. I hope my boys love to read too. We read every night and we will continue to do this until they want to read on their own.

Live.Laugh.L0ve. // Literary Junkies Linkup - Hot Ice

Live.Laugh.L0ve. // Literary Junkies Linkup - Hot Ice

Don’t you just love my mismatched pajamas? ;) I was too lazy to change into something matching and I like to keep things real anyway.

I have missed being apart of the Literary Junkies Book Club and I am joining back in!

Live.Laugh.L0ve. // Literary Junkies Linkup - Hot Ice

1) What are you currently reading? Tell us about it!
I am reading Hot Ice by Nora Roberts. It is a tale of two people who are more opposite than you would think. When they meet under dangerous circumstances, she helps save his life and he promises to pay her back when he gets to his pot of gold, he just needs the money to get to it. She refuses to let him go without her, she refuses to trust him. As they race against the enemy to this treasure in Madagascar they only hope is there. Their lives are on the line, as is their hearts. It’s a passionate, funny & exciting book that will leave you unable to put it down.

I could probably describe it better, but I am super tired as I write this.

Live.Laugh.L0ve. // Literary Junkies Linkup - Hot Ice

2) How many books have you read this year? Do you set reading goals for yourself?
Oh gosh, I don’t even know how many books I have read this year. I am always reading! No, I don’t set reading goals for myself, I’ve never really needed or wanted to.

3) What do you think are the best and worst book-to-movie/TV show adaptations?Ugh. I hate when this happens, but the worst one I have seen is, Tribute by Nora Roberts. The book was AMAZING and the movie downright sucked.

Live.Laugh.L0ve. // Literary Junkies Linkup - Hot Ice

4) What is the first line of your favorite book?
Since Hot Ice is one of my favorite books here is the first line – “He was running for his life. And it wasn’t the first time.”

5) What’s your favorite quote from a book?
“I don’t kick a man when he’s down, unless I’m the one who put him down in the first place. I don’t put him down unless he deserves it. And I don’t break my word if I give it. So I’ll give you my word.”Northern Lights by Nora Roberts.

A glimpse into my day {a linkup}

I went back and forth between doing an “a day in my life” post or a “photo a day” post but, I decided. I post so much about our lives. I tell stories, share pictures and write things that are on my heart. So, I went with a little something in between. I went with showing you a little glimpse into my day. Some of these are pictures I would normally share and others I’m not sure if I have. I’m also inviting you to linkup! I always think it’s fun to do post like this every once in awhile and look at how much life changes.
