Little Mister Style #5

Happy Tuesday y’all. When I decided to give my blog a complete rebrand {the new design is live yay!}, I thought long and hard about what posts I wanted to do more of, what posts I wanted to continue to do and what posts I wanted to get rid of. One thing I really wanted to keep was Little Mister Style. I started it as a linkup and one day I might bring it back as a linkup, but for now. I just want it to be a fun post I do every week showing off fun pictures of my boys and their cute outfits. This week, I decided to match them. The fact that they are only eighteen months apart makes me loveeeee matching them! Do you match your little ones? This was on a day that they both had colds, but the weather was so beautiful that we had to go outside for just a little bit and I’m so glad we did. I love the moments I was able to capture.

Little Mister Style Series #2

One of the reasons I started the Little Mister Style Series / Linkup is not only because I adore my little boys {duh}, but because I think it’s fun to show off their style. It will give me and them something to look back on as they get older and their style continues to change and grow. I’m sure I’ll get the “You dressed me in THAT mom!!” laughs or the “damn I was a little stud.” comments and that is something I’m looking forward to. I also don’t want the Little Mister Style Series to be something that is forced. If my boys don’t want to pose, that’s fine I’ll catch them in their natural element like I did for these pictures and that is totally fine by me. I think I get way better pictures that way anyway. Another reason I started it, is to get them comfortable and confident in front of the camera at a young age. Let’s face it, taking pictures and being in pictures has become so wildly popular and I don’t think it’s going to stop anytime soon and unlike me, I want them to be able to jump in front of the camera and smile and be silly without any problem!

Let’s jump right in.. Jay was the only one who got in on the style post last week and let me just say, he loves knowing he is actually apart of something on my blog, that he is doing something because I asked him to be a part of it, instead of just the normal posts I write about him and his brother! I think it’s so sweet!

Little Mister Style

I love dabbling in fashion, you know this if you have been following my blog for a little while. Well, I went on a little hiatus from my what I wore posts because I swear it was just the same outfits and I was getting tired of it. Over the weekend, we finally got our shop on! #woowoo I am totally bringing back my fashion posts soon, but in the meantime I did some shopping for the boys. It was one thing dressing my boys in cute little toddlers clothes, but now that they are getting bigger, especially Jay, and he is wearing little kid clothes, his style is really coming out and I thought it would be fun to do a little weekly post showing off my boys style. Lets face it, women and little girls fashion is fun and cute, but boys can totally rock some great styles and I’m bringing that to my blog. I even made this a link up this time and if it catches, I’ll continue to have it as a link up! Let’s get started!

Today, it’s just Jay. Kage wasn’t in the picture taking mood and I love that Jay was and how he had no problem letting his cute little personality come through!

I threw caution {or cleaning} to the wind

It was a warm day smack dab in the middle of winter. Hubby had the day off and the sun was beckoning us outside to bathe in its warmth. As Hubby went outside to get the truck ready for the oil change he was about to give it, a list of reasons ran through my head of why we couldn’t go outside and join him. The dishes were piled in the sink, laundry needed to be switched over, both bathrooms needed to be cleaned, the floors needed to be vacuumed and so on. I looked at my boys who were practically begging me to go outside and I threw caution {or cleaning} to the wind. I told them to hurry and grab their chalk and a few toys. I grabbed my camera, my drink and my tablet and we ventured outside. Hubby worked under the vehicles while our boys ran through the yard, their laughter full and rich. Occasionally they would stop to continue drawing or to use their toy tools to “help” daddy change the oil.

I was either snapping pictures, watching them play, drawing with them or reading. The sun was so warm and it felt so strange and out of place among the dead grass and trees, among the piles of leaves still in our yard. It may have felt out of place, but it was welcome. For once we didn’t have to bundle up in our outdoor gear to venture outdoors only to still be cold. No, we sat freely, feeling that sun through the light long sleeve shirts we wore. We were out there for hours. I kept telling myself I needed to go back inside, to start tackling my cleaning to-do list because it needed to get done and I just couldn’t do it. I couldn’t pull my boys away from the freedom of drawing on the driveway or running as fast as they could through the yard. I couldn’t pull myself away from the warmth and relaxation.

I may have had a busy night catching up on all the cleaning I had to do, but It was so completely worth it.

Have you had a warm day during winter this year? Do you ever just set aside whatever needs to get done because the sun just beckons you outside?
