Stocking Stuffer Coupon book for him

This is the first year that Hubby & I have stockings hung on the mantel along with the kids stockings. I thought it would be fun to start having stockings for us and filling it with goodies! I don’t know about you, but my husband is super hard to shop for and why I do have a few things that I am buying him and things I am putting in his stocking, I knew I needed something fun. I love creating coupon books. I made one for my mom last year and this year I wanted to make one for Hubby to put in his stocking! Bonus, I am showing you how to make this super easy DIY & yes you could totally make it the night before because it doesn’t take long at all.

Keep in mind you can make these as clean or as steamy as you like. ;)

Do you unplug on the weekends?

Live.Laugh.L0ve. // Do you unplug on the weekends?

Yesterday, Hubby and I celebrated our eight year anniversary. Eight years ago, we sat parked in front of my parents house and I said yes. Three years ago, we stood before our family and I said I do. It’s been one hell of an amazing, crazy eight years and I can’t wait to see what the next eight brings us. One thing Hubby wanted yesterday, was to swear of cell phones and laptops for the day. I barely waited a beat before I agreed to it.

Spending time unplugged is something I strive to do. It can be so hard with all these different forms of social media we have to stop looking at our phones for more than an hour. That’s not to include email and texts that are right at our fingertips. I’ve learned that when I do unplug, I always like it. I’m more present, my kids are more happy, my husband is more happy and so am I. While I love being able to see what my friends are up to, respond to emails, look at pretty pictures and post a tweet or status whenever I please, I love my little family more so much so, that I regularly make the time to unplug. I can go hours without checking anything, I can go an entire weekend without posting a thing. It’s nice and I am always refreshed and ready to get back to blogging afterwards. :)

It’s moments and memories like these {Day 1}

Remember when I wrote the post, will they remember? It’s moments and memories like we had on Sunday that I hope they hold onto forever. We took them to the park on Sunday. It was a beautiful day, the temperature was perfect, the sky was a beautiful shade of blue with a few soft clouds here and there. There is a paved trail that goes through trees, over a creek and open fields. It connects to about four or five different parks. We brought the boys bikes along with us. They don’t get to ride them very often because we sadly don’t have sidewalks in our neighborhood and we don’t feel comfortable letting them ride on the road.

First, we let them ride their bikes. The concentration on Jay’s face was priceless and kage wasn’t too happy that I wouldn’t push him, I was making him pedal, but when we got to the section where there is a small decline, their faces lit up as they glided down the trail. Afterwards we stopped at one of the parks. They jumped off their bikes and took off running. Their laughter filled the air, Hubby and I looked at each other and smiled, we were all filled with love, fun and happiness.

They pretended to be pirates and eventually cowboys. They chased each other all over the park and daddy joined in on the fun. I sat for awhile, watching the three of them, capturing the moments with my camera and I couldn’t help but think of how incredibly blessed I am.

I hope they remember how daddy gave them a head start before trying to catch them. I hope they remember the laughter that filled the air when he did finally catch them. I hope they remember how even though I knew it was going to hurt, when they asked me to catch them, I joined in for one round of chase.

More than anything, I hope they remember how loved they are and how much laughter filled the air that afternoon.

Dear Hubby

Dear Hubby,

You are a whopping twenty seven years old today.
I know you don’t like to make a big fuss about your birthday.
However, I cherish the twenty seven years you have had.
Without your birth.
There would be no us
and without us there would be no them.
Today, while you are having a “normal” day.
You will be celebrated.
You are an amazing man and father.
I am beyond blessed to call you mine.
I love you, always and forever.

How to have a happy marriage

I have only been married for almost three years {in October} BUT, Hubby and I have been together for almost eight years. We have been parent’s for 5 1/2 years so, we know how important it is to be happy in our marriage and to make time for each other. We have had our share of fights and rough times, because of that I feel fairly confident about this subject. I want to share 5 tips that we do keep our marriage a happy one! Let’s get this started!
1. Laugh. For me, this is one of the biggest things. I love to laugh {hello look at my blog name} and my husband is excellent at making me laugh and I know how to make him laugh. In our home we giggle and laugh until our belly’s hurt several times a day. Whoever said laughter is the best medicine is 100% right.
2. Spend time together. This should be a no brainer but, with life, work, kids and so much more, that it is very easy to overlook or forget to take that time to stop and spend time together. We try and plan one to two times a week to curl up don’t he couch and watch a movie after the boys are in bed or play a game together just the two of us!
3. Date each other. I can’t stress this enough. Hubby and I have date night at least once every two weeks, if not at least once a week. Recently with my back and his work schedule, we went over a month without date night and we felt the weight of it. it is so, so, SO important to get out and have fun like you did when you first started dating.
4. Be honest with each other and open. One thing that I love about our marriage is that we have an open and honest relationship. Even if we don’t agree with what the other person is saying, that doesn’t stop us from saying it. Honesty is definitely the best policy!
5. Make love. Yes, I went there and yes I’m saying this on the Internet. I’m not going to go into detail but, let’s just say. Don’t put this on the back burner. Don’t use the excuse you’re tired unless you can literally barely keep your eyes open. You can muster up the energy to make love. During that time you connect on such an intimate and personal level and you NEED that in your marriage.
So, tell me – what do you and your spouse do, to have a happy marriage or relationship?

BJs restaurant – Dinner for two

You will have to excuse the picture of me – as much as I love my hubs, he is not a picture taker so that is the best I could do with it! Anyways onto the point. Sunday night my momma watched both of the boys! Which meant date night for Hubs and I! #winning We wound up not going until around 8ish, but it was so nice to be able to go out to dinner – just the two of us and taking our boys out to eat with us isn’t our favorite thing to do especially when trying out a new restaurant.
We headed to our local BJ’s restaurant for the first time ever and y’all, we will be going back and we will have to take our boys there! As soon as we walked in my spirit was lifted. The atmosphere was so fun and the conversation was flowing from every table. We had a small wait and all I kept telling Hubby was how I loved the impact the environment of this restaurant had on me.

The waiter was awesome, we told him we were there for the Dinner for two promo they had going on right now: You get:
Choice of two soups OR salads
Any MEDIUM BJ’s Signature Pizza
BJ’s Famous Pizookie dessert
for $19.95!!
and he was so helpful in letting us know what soup/salads we could choose from, pizza & of course the fabulous delicious pizookie.

I had a house salad & Hubby had the chili soup. They were divine not even kidding and when they brought out the pizza – my mouth fell open at how great it looked and it didn’t let me down, it tasted even better than it looked. New favorite pizza restaurant hands down.

We ordered the Oreo pizookie. Y’all I am not a fan of chocolate chip cookies, I’m not really a fan of chocolate at all but, that Oreo pizookie has changed my view on chocolate chip cookies. It was melt in your mouth good, literally.

We will be going there more often and I have already told my mom and sister about it because when Hubby & I get to find a new favorite restaurant I have to tell people about it. Hopefully next time we go I won’t knock my drink over with my elbow and have it go flying everywhere. *sigh* Yes, that really happened, no I’m never going to live it down.
The dinner for two deal is open Nationwide but if you live in Dallas and don’t know where one is – then here is a few in the major cities: Mesquite, TX, Dallas (Addison), TX, Plano, TX, Lewisville, TX, South Arlington, TX & Hurst, TX

Loves on a Thursday

1 : 2 : 3 : 4 : 5 : 6 via Live.Laugh.L0ve. on Pinterest
I have been obsessed with black, white & brown lately. It doesn’t matter the combo, which is funny because I used to hate black and brown together but, those shoes and that shirt has forever changed my view. I want everything – especially that maxi. I basically live in Maxi dresses/skirts in the spring & summer and adding a few more to my collection won’t hurt anything right? Well, besides my wallet. ;) Something tells me I need me to go shopping so I can get all these beautiful items I’m loving!

Loves on a Thursday

Love is all that seems to matter

Friday night my mom & I headed out to the casino for a few hours of fun. This is one of our favorite things to do together when I can get away for a little bit. We were having a good time playing on the slot machines & I was down to my last ten dollars. I ventured off to find a different machine. I was stopped a few feet away by the band that was playing on this little stage. Not only did I stop because they sounded amazing, but their energy was radiating everywhere. The atmosphere was uplifting. People were sitting and laughing. Taking a break from gambling like I was. Smoke stung the air and beers were being sipped.

There was a group forming behind the people sitting in the lounge area, I was apart of that group. People were swaying slightly to the beat that pulsed out of the speakers. Feet were tapping in time with the music. The band was having an amazing time – you could see it from the way they danced, from the way the guitar players played their guitars. The way the drummer was being animated as he played. Smiles lit every one’s faces including mine. A few of us brave souls sang along with the songs that we knew.

Then a country song came on. I couldn’t tell you what it was because my focus immediately went to the elderly man who pulled his wife onto the dance floor, in front of everyone and began to dance with her. You could see they were so in love. You could tell they didn’t even notice the people around them. They were lost in each other. It pulled on my heart strings and the smile on my face grew even bigger as I watched them eat up the dance floor in the middle of everyone.

It reminded me of how beautiful love is. How it comes down to two people forever no matter who is watching. Love lifts your spirits, weather you are experiencing it or watching someone else. Love is all that seems to matter & it’s beautiful.
