Texas Storms

The past few days we have had some crazy storms. Living in Tornado ally is not fun. I have a love/hate relationship with storms. I love a good storm and taking pictures of them, but I hate the tornado part of storms. Living in Texas you never know what the weather is going to do and that freaks me out. A few nights ago, Hubby and I were standing on the back porch watching the storm, the wind was blowing like crazy, and our neighbors tree in their back yard, the branch at the top, just freaking split and a big piece slowly crashed to the ground, it was crazy. Then the other day, we had some storms that caused flooding. Tonight as I’m typing, a storm is going on. Lighting is going crazy and the thunder is super loud. There have been a few storms to the west and south of us that have had tornadoes on the ground and I’m so worried about the storm that’s currently going on. I can’t sleep when it’s storming like this so, I’m going to be tired tomorrow! Anyway, I just wanted to share some pictures of the storms + after the storms that I took and that I love!

Do you live somewhere where the storms are crazy?! Do you love storms or do you hate them?

Life can change so fast

It’s amazing how quickly life can chance. On Friday I decided I wanted to bust out my camera and take a few pictures of little moments in our day for a couple of days. I’m really happy I did because little did I know Sunday I would be having contractions and Monday I would be put on strict bed rest. I love that I have these moments of the last couple of days when life was “normal.”

10 of my favorite vacation pictures

Wow! I’m finally back! I would say I’m sorry for my absence, but I’m totally not. We took our first family vacation and it was UH-MAZ-ING! Seriously, I wish I was still there. We’ve been planning this vacation since the beginning of summer and it was well worth the wait. We went to South Padre Island and it blew me away. The only ocean I’ve ever been to was Galveston and it was pretty, but South Padre was absolutely freaking amazing. We did so much and I have so much to share and talk about. It took me quite a few days to recover from vacation {that’s crazy huh lol}, but I blame it on the pregnancy. Before I launch into everything I want to share in upcoming blog posts. I’m going to do a photo dump of a few of my favorite pictures from the trip. I literally took sooooo many, I had a really hard time narrowing it down to 10 pictures to share in this post. Enjoy! I’ll be back Monday with an actual post!

Our clothespin photo wall

I saw this beautiful idea on pinterest not too long ago and I knew I wanted to do it. Only problem was I suck at getting pictures printed. Literally the only pictures I had hanging in our house were ones from when the boys were 2 and younger and the ones I had ordered from Persnickety. I was in desperate need of a new printer, but I figured I wasn’t getting one anytime soon therefore said cute idea was just going to have to wait! One weekend, Hubs and I loaded up the boys to head to best buy because he was getting a new stereo for his car. Well, I decided to walk around and just happened to walk down the printer isle to see if they had any good ones at a good price. I’ll be damned if we didn’t go at the perfect time because they had a bunch that were on sale. #winning

I casually pushed the cart back over to Hubs after talking to one of the sales floor guys and mentioned that they had some really great printers and I was in desperate need of one and please, just pleaseeeeee! After he picked out his new radio we walked back over together so I could show him. Within a minute he was freaking sold and I squealed and we even let the sales floor guy take our picture with our new printer when he asked to take it “because sometimes they put it on there site.” Sure they do buddy, sure they do, but I didn’t care. Yes, I was that ridiculously excited. A couple of days after we got it I had to run to the dollar store and BOOM clothespins were staring me in the face. I grabbed a couple packages, I will totally be going back for more, and when I got home I went a little printing crazy.

I grabbed my clothespins, grabbed some thumbtacks, yarn, scissors and my freshly printed pictures and got to work. It took me a little while because while I obviously loved the one I saw, I wanted ours to look a bit different. We have the perfect wall for it and I knew just what to do.

It is now my absolute favorite wall in our house! I look at it several times a day and smile every single time. That wall just reminds me of how blessed we are with the life we were given. I also bought some frames that already have 8x10s in them and the wall you see to the right is going to be getting a makeover. The hallway to the left is going to my entryway collage wall and the wall you see in the last picture, well as you can tell I’m re-doing it and it’s going to kick so much ass.

It took me three years to hang a bunch of pictures in our home, but damn it was so worth it.

How a sunset calmed my nerves

Friday night Kage and I headed out to take my cousin & her husbands pictures. I took their family pictures a couple of weeks ago and shared them with you on Saturday. Jay was at my moms house with my nephew for what we call a late night aka staying the time. I was a little nervous about taking Kage with me on a photo shoot. I was also worried that I wasn’t going to get decent pictures because the sunrise was going to be completely gone by the time the photo shoot happened.

So to ease some of my nerves I headed out way early to the location. A beautiful trail that had a shimmering lake in the middle of it. One gazebo sat on either side of the trail a little ways from where I was. I pulled the stroller out of the car, grabbed my camera & buckled Kage into the stroller and we began our walk. There were people running, jogging and simply walking to enjoy the view. Ducks swam in the lake leaving a beautiful v shape in the water behind them. As the sun started to set the air become colder especially with water close by.

We walked back to the car to get Kage’s jacket & decided instead of walking more we were going to sit in the car and listen to music. I turned on a game for Kage on his phone & turned on country music on pandora on my phone. I people watched and as the sun began its dip behind the sky my breath was taken away. I couldn’t tell you the last time I watched an entire sunset, or the last time I watched an entire one with one of my boys. But I stopped Kage mid game and pointed to the sky to show him all the colors.

A soft pink and delicate blue began to intertwine. As the sun continued its descent, streaks of purple and orange began to clash with it. Eventually as the sun gave the sky it’s final kiss goodnight it look liked yellow fire. I watched the entire thing and my nerves were no longer there. Watching Gods creation all the way through brought me a sense of peace and by the time my cousin & her hubs showed up for their photo shoot, I was more than ready.

I will be sharing the photos from the photo shoot soon!

Tuesday 10 {on Wednesday}

It has been way too long sense I linked up with Lena for Tuesday 10. The last one I linked up was about my favorite books! I have been wanting to share these awesome sketch pictures for sometime, so I’m linking up yo. ;) Anywho, this is a mode on the camera I received for Christmas and Hubs & I are pretty obsessed with this sketch mode. He has taken some of the above pictures and some of them I have taken. These are my ten favs so far! Which one is your favorite of the ones above?

I’m dreaming of a white Christmas

Good evening {or morning} depending on when you read this.
How was your Christmas?! I truly hope it was all kinds of wonderful. The past few days have
been a huge blur of family, food & presents! I think I’m going to break it down into a few posts
because I have so much I want to share + write about. But right now I’m sharing pictures of our
white Christmas.

A white Christmas in Texas is rare. We usually get snow before Christmas or after Christmas.
Very rarely on Christmas. But this year, we all got our Christmas wish – we had a white
Christmas and it was beautiful!

I am absolutely love snow – how it looks like a white blanket has just been laid over everything.
Being from Texas, we only get it a few days a year so it truly makes me cherish it that
much more.

Taking a day to unplug + a little news + my husband is so sweet

Happy Saturday loves. How was your Friday? Any fun plans for today? We have a packed Saturday around here and I am actually looking forward to it. I am going to do a little unplugging after I get some work done today so I can get some things done around my house. The fridge needs to be cleaned out like yesterday or last month but who’s keeping track? #apparentlynotme
{The magnets before we painted them}
The backyard needs a good mowing, the bathrooms need to be scrubbed and some closets need to do be de-cluttered. I also have decorations to make for a baby shower + birthday coming at the end of this month. I want to take the boys to the park and do a few activities with them. So, as you can see. I need a day to unplug. The boys & I also did a fun little activity creating our own magnets and painting them! I will be investing in more of these kits.
{The boys having so much fun painting the magnets}
I wanted to let yall know that the Husbands Need Love too linkup is coming up on the 15th & the prompt this month is Record a Vlog with your hubs. You don’t have to do this but I figured it would be something fun and new! My new permanent co-host for this linkup is the wonderful Kristina and I am happy to have her apart of this linkup. If you would like to co-host with us one month please email me – cassielivelaughl0ve@gmail.com
{The finished magnets that will be hung on the fridge!}
I joined in on this wonderful instagram {user name @c_livelaughl0ve} challenge called 30 days of thanks. Maybe you have seen it? It reminds me to count my blessings everyday and it couldn’t have come at a more perfect time when life is a little crazy.

{Reading jay his bible}

 {These earrings came in the mail yesterday from Mama Marchrand’s Nest shop & I adore them!}

I even had a little breakdown and cried on Thursday night and had a chat with my husband. Sometimes life can be stressful and I have a tendency to hold everything in until it has to come out. Needless to say, he texted me yesterday while he was at work at asked if he could take me shopping to buy a new outfit & asked when I asked him what the occasion was – he told me it was because he loved me and appreciated everything I do.

{Yay for red leggings!}
That man melts my heart I tell ya.
