free to be an adventurous busy momma

This post is sponsored by all free clear but the content and opinions expressed here are my own.

Having a house full of boys means we are always on the go and we are always getting messy! The twins have recently started baby food and the get messy trying to grab the spoon before I can get it to their mouth. Hello sticky fingers and then of course baby food gets all over their little clothes. So does drool and spit up. It’s true what they say, babies are messy. Kids are even messier!! My boys are always climbing on stuff, playing in the dirt, running around outside, and one of their favorite things ever is playing in the mud! Especially after it rains, which we’ve been getting a lot of lately! So, of course playing the mud and making mud pies is a must in this house!

We love spending time outside whether it’s swinging, running around the yard, playing tag, building stick figures, digging in the dirt with shovels, and just all out having good ol’ fun! I have always embraced a messy, chaotic, and fun life and all free clear laundry detergent helps me to do just that! I know that it’s not irritating my little one’s skin because it’s the #1 recommend laundry detergent brand by Dermatologist, Allergist, and pediatrics for sensitive skin! I love knowing that it’s tough enough to fight all those dirt, grass, and mud stains that four boys wind up with, but gentle enough for the whole family. That’s winning in my book!

Let the fun, messy memories continue!! What is your favorite messy memory?!

Quick & Easy Drinks With Coca Cola

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #FinalFourPack #CollectiveBias Coca-Cola is a corporate champion of the NCAA.

Messaging below is intended for ages 21+ and is intended to be enjoyed responsibly, in moderation.

Ever since I started taking Thrive and working out {more to come on that later} I have cut my soda intake to one soda a day if that, which is a huge deal because I was slamming sodas like crazy, but I do like to have a good drink very now and again and for me, that requires soda because I’m liquor kinda girl ya know? Therefore, I still like to have a few sodas n the house. Well, while I was getting my grocery shopping on; I noticed these 4 pack of Coca-Cola NCAA® Cans Final Four Pack available at Walmart. They came in Vanilla Coke, Cherry Coke, and Coke zero. I grabbed one of each and an extra Cherry Coke because I know my husband loves his Cherry Coke. :)

I think having friends over and sharing the Coca-Cola NCAA® Final Four Pack and making the drinks I’m fixing to share with y’all would be so much fun! I grabbed three different flavors so, there is something for everyone. I really enjoyed the two different alcoholic drinks I mixed into the different flavors and the lime and lemon really gave it something different.

You will need:
– Coca-Cola NCAA® 4 pack cans of Vanilla coke and Cherry coke {You can get 4 Coca-Cola NCAA® Final Four Pack available at Walmart (Coke Zero, Cherry Coke, Vanilla Coke) for $5, or 2 for $3 in certain areas of the country.}

2 things I need to help me stay active

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #FitToPlay #CollectiveBias

Staying active is something I have to do. I am a wife, I have four little ones, I’m a full time blogger, a full time stay at home mom, a writer, a picture taker, and so much more. My kids alone keep me pretty darn busy throughout the day and lets not even begin to get into everything I do inbetween taking care of them, playing with the, diapers, bottles, schoolwork, etc. If you are new to my blog, a little something you may not know is that I have a bad bag. I found out almost two years ago that I have two herniated discs in my back and one of them is pushing down on a nerve in my leg. Despite living with daily pain, I have to keep going every day because that’s what happens when you are a mom of multiples, have a house to run, and a job to do. When my monthly friend decided to play a visit, it hurts my back so bad. I don’t get normal front cramps, I get back cramps so, you can imagine the toll it takes on my back when I’m on it. Even still, I have too much to do to slow down.

I have so many things in the past to help out and keep me going, but it wasn’t until I discovered two things that I now can’t live without!

1. Playtex® Sport® Combo Packs. As an active momma, I am constatly moving, running, bending, and playing throughout the day. Before I found these, I was always worried about not being fully protected and lets face it ladies, that is the worst thing ever, can I get an amen?! Thankfully, I now have the confidence I need to go about my normal routine and not have to worry if things are going to get messy! The NEW! Playtex® Sport® now available in Pads, Liners and Combo Packs at Walmart! Now Sport Level Protection™ pads, liners and combo packs with Flexfit™ design to twist and turn with your body. Don’t let your period get in the way. PlayOn!

2. My Essential Oils! Not only do they help with my mood during my period, but they also help with the pain! I know since I started using these, my kids are a lot happier that I’m not having to tell them to “hold on” or “I can’t right now.” I use Joy + Valor to boost my mood and I create a rub of Valor + Lavender + Panaway to rub on my back and it helps so much!!

I love being an active mom and I’m glad I can continue to be one! What is your favorite acitivity? Besides playing with my kids, I’m currently into yoga!

Do you think you will give Playtex® Sport® combo packs a try?! You can find the at Walmart by the shampoo/bodywash aisles! Be sure to check them out on Facebook and Instagram as well!

Fun snack ideas for the Kids’ Choice Awards

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #KidsChoiceDrink #CollectiveBias

We absolutely love Nickelodeon in this house! My boys especially, but I’ve left it on to watch Victorious {who else?!} long after they are done watching Spongebob Squarepants, Paw Patrol, Dora the Explorer, or The Fairly Odd parents; just to name a few. So, it should come as no surprise that we are so excited to watch the Kids’ Choice Awards this year on March 28th! We also happen to love Capri Sun Roarin’ Waters, which is the official drink for the Kids’ Choice Awards. My kids love them and I have no problem admitting that I still drink Capri Sun to this day. What can I say, they are such a delicious lightly fruit flavored water, and I love that Capri Sun Roarin’ Waters is only thirty calories! That’s a win in my book! This year, I thought it would be fun to make some yummy snacks to eat while we watch the awards. These are all simple, quick, and fun!

Why I’m already thinking of prepaid plans for Jay

Beauty & The Boys // Why I'm already thinking of prepaid plans for Jay. #ChangingPrepaid #ad #cbias

Wondering what my post title is about?! How about a fun little back story that I still haven’t lived down to this day. I don’t remember how old I was when I got a phone through my parents account. I think I was about thirteen, but when I was about fifteen, I had discovered that I could get on the internet on my phone and chat with my friends, mainly the guy I was crushing on back then. Little did I know, my phone didn’t have unlimited web, and my parents had no idea I was even using the internet at the time. Well, that all changed when they received the next month’s phone bill, which I had apparently ran up to a thousand dollars. Yep, a thousand big ones. My parents were beyond angry and I was in huge trouble. It didn’t matter that I hadn’t known that I was being charged for every aim message I sent from my phone, all that mattered was that I had put my parents down $1,000. I didn’t have a phone for awhile after that and I learned my lesson. I wound up with a prepaid phone plan after that happened for a little while, but that is exactly what brings me to my point about Jay. I wasn’t really introduced to computer or cell phones until I was about twelve. From then on, I grew up with internet, computers, laptops, and cell phones.

Beauty & The Boys // Big Hero 6 Baymax Treat Balls #BigHero6MovieNight #ad #cbias

Being a family of six, means life is super busy, chaotic, and fun. The only time during the day that we are all sitting down together is during dinner and during reading time before bed. Otherwise, we are go, go, going all day long. I have two planners. One is for blogging and the other one is for our life. At the beginning of every month, I sit down and plan out as much of our month as I can. One thing that goes on there every month, is family movie night. I try to schedule two family movie nights a month because, we love sitting down as a family; popping in a kid-friendly movie, enjoying some yummy snacks, and cuddling up on the couch with my boys. This month for one of our family movie nights we watched Big Hero 6!

Every Sunday, I take the time to plan out our week. I wasn’t always a planner, but with the blog and when Jay started school, I began planning a little bit because there was new things happening with our schedules. School parties, fun little projects due, posts that needed to be wrote, pictures that needed to be taken, and more. Well, when we became a family of six, my planning went into overdrive. There is absolutely no way I would be able to remember everything between my husband, four kids, myself, our home, and blogging. So, every Sunday night after all the little ones are in bed, I sit down and glance at our month and plan out our week. Here is a few things that help me get through this planning phase at night.

A Warm Family Meal With Marie Callender’s pot pie

Live.Laugh.L0ve. // A Warm Family Meal With Marie Callender's pot pie #WarmthInACrust #ad #cbias

One thing I have always loved doing is cooking with my boys. They always say the kitchen is the home of the heart and I like to believe that’s true. I love the conversations and laughter we share around the kitchen table over a delicious meal and I absolutely love how excited the boys get when I tell them they get to help me cook. I have such awesome little helpers in the kitchen so, last week when it was super cold out, I knew it was the perfect time to do a little family cooking and warm our souls with a warm meal and laughter. I ran to Walmart and we grabbed the things we needed to enjoy Marie Callender’s pot pie and our favorite chili recipe!

Live.Laugh.L0ve. // A Warm Family Meal With Marie Callender's pot pie #WarmthInACrust #ad #cbias

You will need:
- Marie Callender’s pot pie {I got the family size chicken one}
- 2 pounds of hamburger meat {If you are wanting to make a smaller serving of chili, cut this recipe in half. We like making a lot at once to have plenty of leftovers!}
- 1 large can and 1 regular size can {15oz} of ranch style beans with sweet onions
- 1 can of Chili style diced tomatoes
- 1 can of Tomato paste
- Saltine Crackers
- Butter

Live.Laugh.L0ve. // A Warm Family Meal With Marie Callender's pot pie #WarmthInACrust #ad #cbias

After I got back, I asked the boys if they wanted to help me make the chili to go with dinner and they immediately shouted “yes!” The family size pot pie we got took a little over an hour to make so I popped that in the oven to let it cook for awhile before we started on the chili. When there was about 30 minutes left on the pot pie, I started browning two pounds of hamburger meat. Once the meat was done, the boys grabbed their chair, pushed it up to the stove, and patiently waited while I opened up all of the cans! After you have all the cans open, pour the hamburger meat into the pot.

After you and/or your little ones have done that, fill each can about 3/4 with water, and pour all of that water from each can into the pot as well! Bring to a boil and let boil for two minutes. Reduce heat and simmer for at least 10 minutes, stirring frequently!

Live.Laugh.L0ve. // A Warm Family Meal With Marie Callender's pot pie #WarmthInACrust #ad #cbias

Your delicious pot pie should be ready about the same time the chili is! Let the pot pie cool, butter some crackers {to dip into the chili because, its SO yummy that way}, scoop your chili into bowls, and sit down to get your bellies full and warm!

This is seriously an easy dinner and one the whole family can enjoy when it’s cold outside!

What is your favorite warm meal during these cold months?

Two Delicious Parfait Recipes

Beauty & The Boys // SNICKERS S'mores Parfait #biggametreats #cbias #ad

Beauty & The Boys // Skittles & Starbursts Jello Parfait #biggametreats #cbias #ad

I don’t know about you, but I am sooo happy that my team won last night! :) We are huge football lovers in our casa and I can’t wait for the Big Game! One thing I am always sure to have on hand when we are watching the big game there is always yummy food and desserts! I don’t know about you but I tend to stress eat when I’m watching my team and things are getting close so plenty of food on hand is a MUST. Our boys are also reaching the age that they are interested in watching the game with us so I have to make sure we have plenty of things they like to eat as well. I wanted to try something new to make this year that all of us will love and I came up with two delicious parfait recipes!

If you are making both, you need to head to Walmart to get all of your ingredients. You will need:

- A big bag of Skittles®.
- A big bag of Starburst®.
- A bag of fun size SNICKERS®®
- Orange Jello & Red Jello.
- Whip cream.
- Graham crackers.
- Chocolate syrup.
- Marshmallow Topping.
- Mini Marshmallows.
- Instant vanilla pudding.

Beauty & The Boys// SNICKERS S'mores Parfait #biggametreats #cbias #ad

First up is the SNICKERS S’mores Parfait. I thought it would be great to put a yummy twist on S’mores by using SNICKERS instead of chocolate and I’m so glad it did. It turned out soooo delicious. For this recipe you will need:

Beauty & The Boys // SNICKERS S'mores Parfait #biggametreats #cbias #ad

Live.Laugh.L0ve. // Snickers S'mores Parfait #biggametreats #cbias #ad

- 6 Fun size SNICKERS.
- Chocolate syrup.
- Marshmallow topping.
- A few mini marshmallows.
- Whip cream.
- Instant Vanilla pudding.
- About 6 graham crackers.

Live.Laugh.L0ve. // Snickers S'mores Parfait #biggametreats #cbias #ad

First, make your vanilla pudding as the directions say on the box. After that is done, cut the six snickers into four pieces each.

Live.Laugh.L0ve. // Snickers S'mores Parfait #biggametreats #cbias #ad

Next, begin layering your parfait. For the first layer I crushed up 2 graham crackers to put in the bottom, then I added four pieces of SNICKERS, then drizzle on the marshmallow topping, put 2 good size scoops of the vanilla pudding on top of that, and then add whip cream.

Live.Laugh.L0ve. // Snickers S'mores Parfait #biggametreats #cbias #ad

For the next layer, I crushed up 2 more graham crackers, then I added 8 pieces of SNICKERS, drizzle on marshmallow toppings, add a few mini marshmallows, then 2 to 3 good size scoops of vanilla pudding, and then add your whip cream.

Live.Laugh.L0ve. // Snickers S'mores Parfait #biggametreats #cbias #ad

Next, crush up one graham cracker to sprinkle on top of the whip cream. Place 8 pieces of SNICKERS around the whip cream.

Live.Laugh.L0ve. // Snickers S'mores Parfait #biggametreats #cbias #ad

Live.Laugh.L0ve. // Snickers S'mores Parfait #biggametreats #cbias #ad

Last, add a bit more whip cream, a little bit more crushed graham crackers, top with chocolate syrup, and stick a SNICKERS in the top of the whip cream!

You are done! Your taste buds are going to love you for making that! :)

Live.Laugh.L0ve. // Skittles & Starbursts Jello Parfait #biggametreats #cbias #ad

For the Starbursts & Skittles Jello Parfait. You will need:

Live.Laugh.L0ve. // Skittles & Starbursts Jello Parfait #biggametreats #cbias #ad

- Orange and Red skittles.
- Orange and Red Starbursts.
- Orange and Red Jello.
- Whip Cream.
- A few yellow skittles.
- A few purple skittles.

Live.Laugh.L0ve. // Skittles & Starbursts Jello Parfait #biggametreats #cbias #ad

Live.Laugh.L0ve. // Skittles & Starbursts Jello Parfait #biggametreats #cbias #ad

Live.Laugh.L0ve. // Skittles & Starbursts Jello Parfait #biggametreats #cbias #ad

Unless you have instant jello {I didn’t} be sure you allow plenty of time for the Jello to set. First you need to get 8 red starbursts and 8 orange starbursts. Cut each on in half. Then pick out all the red skittles and orange skittles. I promise, I was able to do that fast and it didn’t take long at all. :)

Live.Laugh.L0ve. // Skittles & Starbursts Jello Parfait #biggametreats #cbias #ad

Once you have made the red jello and orange jello, pour the red skittles + starburts into the red jello and the orange skittles + starbursts into the orange jello. Let set in the fridge for 4 hours.

Now, when you pull the jello out after the 4 hours, don’t be scared of how it looks because with the candy in there, it really doesn’t look that great, but I promise it tastes amazing! Now, all you have to do is layer each one.

Live.Laugh.L0ve. // Skittles & Starbursts Jello Parfait #biggametreats #cbias #ad

Live.Laugh.L0ve. // Skittles & Starbursts Jello Parfait #biggametreats #cbias #ad

For the red parfait; Jello + whip cream + a few purple skittles. Jello + whip cream + a few purple skittles + 3 red starbursts on top.

Live.Laugh.L0ve. // Skittles & Starbursts Jello Parfait #biggametreats #cbias #ad

For the orange parfait; Jello + whip cream + a few yellow skittles. Jello + whip cream + a few yellow skittles + 3 orange starbursts on top.

Live.Laugh.L0ve. // Skittles & Starbursts Jello Parfait #biggametreats #cbias #ad

Ta-da, another delicious dessert done!

Our perfect at home date night

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #YoursandMine #CollectiveBias

My husband and I used to be so great about “dating” each other. Whether we were going out for date night or staying in, we made sure it happened at least twice a month. I believe it’s so important to date your spouse and keep your romance alive. As much as I love my kids, those times with my husband are beyond needed. Those times where we have real adult conversation, can linger quietly over a meal, steal kisses, and just simply enjoy each other. Yeah, those times absolutely recharged me and I was more than ready to take on the week and I could always tell when it had been too long since we had a date night; I don’t know how to really explain it besides, I just felt irritated and off. Like, I just needed one on one time with my husband. I needed to get out of the house with him or stay in with him, either way, I just needed time with him. Before we found out I was pregnant, our date nights had started going down to once a month and sometimes, we would even completely skip a month due to my husband’s work schedule, but we were doing our best to still make date nights work. One of my favorite date night’s while I was pregnant happened while we were in south padre and I’ll never forget that memory. Once I got put on bed rest, you can imagine our date nights became non existent because Hubby was trying to balance it all while I wasn’t allowed to do anything.

Being put on bed rest gave me a lot of time to think though. I knew the twins could arrive anytime and I knew we were going to have two babies + our two older boys to care for. I knew that my days were going to go from sun up until sun down with how busy I was going to be. I knew that my time would be even more stretched and I began to wonder if there was anything I just wasn’t willing to comprise on. When you become a momma, even for the first time, you sacrifice a lot of your time for your child{ren} and that’s exactly how it should be. Putting my kids needs before my own was a natural instinct for me and most days, I have zero problems with doing that. Like I said though, realizing how much more of my time would be stretched, I knew there was going to be a couple of things I wouldn’t budge on because I just need these times. I’ll get into the others later, but for now, one thing I wasn’t giving up was date night with my husband. It is so easy to get caught up in being a momma, running the kids here and there, errands, keeping up with the house, laundry, and so much more. Add in for the past seven weeks I had been going to the hospital every single day to visit my babies..

As you can see, making time for my husband, making time to be his wife, and solely focus on us, can get lost and lost rather quickly. One thing I told myself I was going to do in the new year, is to make sure our date nights stay alive. I know we won’t have as many as we once had, at least for awhile, but I told myself we can manage once a month. Even if we don’t get out of the house for our date night, we could easily have different types of date nights at home. What I love about having date night’s at home is they are alot cheaper, we don’t have to find a sitter because we can wait until after all the little ones are asleep, and we can have any type of night we want at home. For our first date night, I decided on a romantic night.

Live.Laugh.L0ve. // Our perfect at home date night #YoursandMine #Ad

Live.Laugh.L0ve. // Our perfect at home date night #YoursandMine #Ad

I ran to walmart to grab everything I needed. For this super simple, yet romantic date night you will need:
- Something for dinner. I chose to make spaghetti so I gathered all the ingredients I would need for that.
- Wine or a drink of choice.
- Wine glasses.
- K-Y® YOURS+MINE and/or K-Y® DATE NIGHT
{There is an awesome deal coming soon for K-Y® DATE NIGHT: $50 value, you get 1 free meal for two people from PEACHDISH.com delivered to your door! How perfect for that at home date! You also get $5 VUDU movie credit for you to stream right at home!}

As you can see, I didn’t spend an arm and a leg for this because after I finish making dinner, I can switch the mood to romance without having to spend big bucks to make it romantic. A delicious meal with the lights down low, quiet conversation, kisses that taste as good as the wine your drinking; is all you need for a romantic date night. In an atmosphere like that, you might just love what happens next, but I’ll leave that for your imagination for you and your spouse. Ladies, don’t be scared to ask your man to try out the K-Y® YOURS+MINE either. I was pretty nervous about asking him and let’s just say, I had no reason to be. ;) I can’t wait to plan out our next date night! I’m thinking game night for our next one, you’ll just have to wait and see what that consists of!
